Hi all.

The attached planned burn will be ignited shortly by crews from CFA and FFMV.

If you see smoke from that general area this is most likely why.

The Fire Danger Period is ending after Easter.
If you’re planning to burn off make sure it’s safe.
Always register your burn and check the weather before and in the days after.
If you light it you own it.
Check if restrictions apply, outside of the Fire Danger Period you may still need a permit to burn in some council areas.

Good Friday is almost here again!

With one week to go the Maffra CFA volunteers are busily working behind the scenes for our annual Good Friday Appeal Door knock and fundraising.

With the help of our amazing community we are able to help raise so much more for the Royal Children’s hospital and the sick kids that need our help.

If you’re able to spare an hour or even a few hours on the day to door knock for donations we would all greatly appreciate your help.

We will be ready to start from 9.30am on Good Friday, 3rd April. From Maffra fire Brigade.
Remember to wear your comfy shoes 👟

If you could kindly let us know if you’ll be available to help us out so we can plan accordingly.

Thanks again to you all for your help and service. We appreciate you all. 😁

Hi all, Wednesday the 11th February has been declared by the CFA Chief Officer as a day of Total Fire Ban in West and South Gippsland.

No fires may remain burning or be lit between the hours of 12:01am and 11:59pm. This includes late afternoon into the evening where we and other local brigades see people think that due to the wind change and it cooling off they can light a fire.

Should you decide to light up a fire and we are called out to it you won’t just be seeing a red truck with red and blue lights, you will also find parked at the front of your house a white vehicle with blue and white squares and red and blue lights who will hand you your invitation to explain to the magistrate why you should not receive a fine.

Let’s hope it’s just a nice hot day and we can all enjoy the air conditioner!!
