Congratulations to former 316 ACU Cadet Warrant Officer Class 2 ๐‘๐จ๐ก๐š๐ง ๐‘๐ข๐œ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ, who has been selected as ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ž๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š๐œ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐•๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐š ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐•๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐  ๐•๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ซ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ!

From joining 316 ACU in its inaugural year in 2023, Rohan quickly demonstrated the qualities that define an outstanding cadet: ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ, ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž, ๐š๐œ๐œ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž to others.

Within just two years, he progressed to WO2 and CSM, taking on significant responsibilities across operations, welfare, supporting the day-to-day running of our local unit.

But what makes this achievement particularly special is what happened after Cadets.

Rohan has taken the lessons learned at 316 ACU into the wider community, continuing his commitment to service through volunteering with the CFA and VICSES, while also helping organise community events and fundraisers.

As Rohan puts it:

That is the legacy we hope every cadet takes with them.

Cadets isn't simply about uniforms, drill or military skills. It is about building character, confidence, leadership, resilience and a willingness to contribute to something bigger than yourself.
Rohan's journey is a brilliant example of that.

And his message to young people thinking about joining?

3. You have now been selected as one of only eight finalists in the 2026 Victorian Young Volunteer Awards. How do you think your experiences and responsibilities as an Army Cadet have influenced your commitment to volunteering and helping your community?

Yesterday, staff and cadets from 316 Army Cadet Unit were in Horsham supporting Legacy Week, selling badges and merchandise and helping raise much-needed funds for Legacy.

It was a great opportunity for our cadets to get involved in the community, represent 316ACU and support an organisation that has been caring for the families of veterans for generations.
