We all maintain our skills and are all Professionals in what we do.
Please don't seek to divide us or ridicule!
Those who seek to set one against another are scurrilous!

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ”₯πŸš’ A powerful photo of an exhausted and battle weary Firefighter Captain Brad Waterhouse (dec), Black Saturday 7/02/2009 - Bunyip State Park, Victoria.
On Black Saturday the 7th of February 2009, 173 people died and 414 were injured as a result of these fires. As many as 400 individual fires were recorded on that hellish day.
A day that Australia will never forget. πŸ˜”

Something that is really important to most of us now...

Something that is really important to most of us now...

‼️When people say EV battery fires are β€œHARD TO PUT OUT”πŸ”₯πŸͺ«

it’s not because water doesn’t work.

It’s because the fire isn’t just on the outside β€”
it’s happening inside the battery.

Lithium-ion cells in thermal runaway generate their own heat and flammable gases. Even after visible flames are knocked down, the internal chemical reaction can continue β€” which is why re-ignition is possible if the battery pack isn’t fully cooled.

So the real challenge isn’t extinguishing flames.
It’s stopping the chain reaction.

Then some ask:
β€œIf lithium-ion batteries can burn like this, why were they invented?”

Because they are powerful, energy-dense, and highly efficient.
They power modern transportation, communication, and technology.

But like any high-energy system, they require proper engineering, correct installation, protective systems, and informed emergency response.

The real mission on the fireground isn’t just flame control.
It’s heat absorption β€” cooling the battery pack enough to stop thermal runaway.

Modern vehicles demand modern fireground awareness. πŸš’βš‘
