🚧 Road improvement works on McEwens Beach Road 🚧

Council will soon begin important works to widen the approach culvert on McEwens Beach Road, helping to improve safety and access for all road users.

During construction, motorists can expect changed traffic conditions and minor delays. Please take care in the area, follow all signage, and adhere to directions from traffic controllers.

Works are scheduled to start Monday, June 8.

We appreciate the community’s patience while these essential upgrades are carried out.

🌟Join the fun of the Sarina and District Historical Centre Open Day this Saturday, June 6, from 10am - 2pm.

The Field of Dreams Precinct will be buzzing with the 1937 Fire Engine, classic cars and free face-painting for the kids. Visit the Sarina Art Gallery, Sarina Tourist Arts and Crafts Centre and the Sarina Sugar Shed. 🚒🤡

🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍➡️There’ll be a historical street walk at 11am. Take a look back on Broad Street and Central Street and discover the history of some of Sarina’s oldest buildings.

Dress in your old-time clothes to celebrate Queensland Day. 🎉

WHAT A MORNING WE HAD AT THE EXPO 👏🎉

Thanks to everyone who came to the Mackay Disability Expo this morning and made it a great success!

From housing support, mobility aids, disaster preparation and amazing performances there was so much to see and do.

The expo is a great way for people with disability to engage with the community and to learn about new services and opportunities - all in one handy location!

🚧 Upcoming night works – Farrellys Road

Asphalt resurfacing works will be carried out on Farrellys Road (between Connors Road and Milton Street) and part of Michelmore Street.

🗓 June 8 to 18, 2026 (weather permitting)
🕕 6pm to 6am

🚗 Traffic changes:
Single lane traffic will be in place, and delays may occur. Please use alternative routes where possible.

🚧Traffic conditions - Kippen Street, South Mackay 🚗

Please be aware that Kippen Street, between Juliet Street and Lamb Street, is currently under traffic control with one-lane traffic between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, while water main renewal works are being completed. 💧

📅 Work is expected to be completed by late August, weather permitting.

✅Access to the nearby facilities, such as Harrup Park and the tennis courts, will not be impacted.
