Our meetings are on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month starting at 7:30 pm and finishing at 9 pm. You are welcome to attend a couple of our meetings as a guest before deciding to join.

We're taking a short intermission from our Toastmasters Northern Division Conference promotions to recognise one of our remarkable members - Col Benson.

Col has been a dedicated member of our club for 20 years, and his service to the wider community is nothing short of extraordinary. We're often privileged to hear about the immense contributions he makes to organising Mackay's Anzac Day and Remembrance Day commemorations, along with his ongoing contributions to the Bakers Creek Air Crash memorial and Fokker Friendship Plane Crash project.

This year, Col’s commitment and leadership were recognised in the most fitting way - he was awarded Citizen of the Year in the 2026 Mackay Regional Council Australia Day Awards.

This is a well‑deserved honour for someone who gives so much of himself to preserving Mackay's history and supporting community remembrance.

We are thrilled to introduce our Dinner Keynote Speaker for the Toastmasters Northern Division Conference: Ian Rowan

Ian brings an extraordinary blend of leadership, service, and global experience. Educated in Glasgow, he began his career as an RAF fighter pilot flying F4 Phantoms before moving into insurance and merchant banking in London. After emigrating to New Zealand in 1989, he held senior roles in banking, tourism, and major events, later continuing his leadership career in Australia, including five years as CEO of CQ Rescue.

After emigrating to New Zealand in 1989, Ian continued to build an impressive leadership portfolio across banking, tourism, and major events, before moving to Australia where he served five years as CEO of CQ Rescue, strengthening one of our region’s most vital emergency services.

Join us at the conference dinner to hear Ian’s remarkable journey firsthand.
