The Migrant Driver Education Workshop is a FREE program designed to help migrants understand Australian road rules and prepare for and take their learner driver license test in a supported environment.

The program includes 6 weekly sessions led in a friendly, supportive environment. Content is explained in easy, clear English, with time for questions and discussion.

Interpreters and translation support available- contact Lauren to discuss this option.

Workshop details:
📅 6 Thursdays sessions starting 16 July 9am
⏰ Most sessions run 9 am to 11 am (final session 9 am to 12 pm)

Neighbourhood Centre Week is done. The connections? Those don't stop!

We're still reflecting on our visit to the team at The Bowen Community Centre, one of our neighbours in the region doing incredible work for their community. There's something grounding about sitting across from people who get it and who are navigating the same challenges, celebrating the same wins, and showing up every day for the people around them.

That's what this network is really about. Not just a week on the calendar, but an ongoing reminder that we're stronger when we're connected to each other.

We're already looking forward to the next visit!!

🌏 Multicultural Program — May Highlights ✨

What an incredible month it’s been for our Multicultural Program! Here’s a little snapshot of the wonderful moments we shared together:

🩺 Migrant First Aid Session
A huge thank you to Graeme from Queensland Ambulance for delivering such an informative and hands‑on session. We learned about CPR, bites, water safety, and so many vital skills that empower our community.

💐 Mother’s Day Celebration
We had a morning full of laughter, games, colourful wigs, delicious morning tea, and lots of love. Every mum went home with a gift bag — a small token of appreciation for the amazing women they are.

🖤💛❤️ Yarning Circles with Aunty Lynn
We were honoured to sit with Aunty Lynn for two powerful Yarning Circles, learning about First Nations history and its deep importance. She shared Bush Tucker with us, and we enjoyed damper lovingly made by her and her daughter.

A big thank you to Deb and her AMEP students from TAFE for joining us and contributing to such meaningful conversations.

Feeling grateful for the connection, learning, and community spirit that continues to grow each month. Looking forward to many more moments like these. 💖
