May. What a month you were. ๐ ๐ก
From the top of the month to the very last day, the TNHub team has been out in the community, engaging and connecting on moments that matter most.
We kicked off May attending the Mackay Mayor's Charity Ball๐, where we were honoured to be named charity partner for 2026/2027, with funds raised supporting our Food Diversion Program!
We celebrated Neighbourhood Centres Week with a trip to our neighbours at The Bowen Community Centre, a reminder of the strength that comes from staying connected across our region. ๐ค
On 26 May, we headed to Cape Hillsborough for a Cultural Educational Talk facilitated by Yuwi Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC Mackay QLD. ๐ฟ
National Families Week brought a special celebration at Community Playgroup Thursday and we also joined in the Under 8s Day at Victoria Park State School. Simple, warm, and exactly the kind of moment that reminds us why connection matters. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
May is DFV Awareness Month, and we showed up for it in every way we could. We hosted the Zonta Club of Mackay ๐ , we wore purple every Friday ๐, we attended a candle lighting ceremony, took photo with the RESPECT letters at Mount Pleasant Centre, we welcomed the DFV Prevention Council on 28 May and hosted a community self-defence workshop alongside a conversation about the many forms of domestic and family violence. And we joined our community at the DFV March at Blue Water Quay.
National Volunteer Week gave us the chance to stop, look around, and say thank you. We attended the Mackay Regional Council Volunteer Expo and hosted a special morning tea to celebrate the people who give their time so generously to TNHub. TNHub does not happen without you. โค๏ธ
And somewhere in between all of that, we made it to not one but two national conferences, the FCA Conference in Cairns and the FRSA National Conference in Brisbane.
To everyone who walked alongside us this month - thank you!! This is what community looks like. ๐ ๐ก
