Times for the Lava Blast Run

Family run/walk, a short 800tr course suited to all abilities, encouraging young athletes, families, prams, wheel chairs and ability scooters encouraging maximum participation. Tracks are bitumen or gravel, taking on the beautiful scenery and a glimpse of Lake Surprise. If you are lucky, you might spot a koala hidden in the majestic manna gums. There will be an activity children can participate in while on the family walk.

3km Run/Walk taking on the breath-taking scenic views of Lake Surprise, and stretching as far as you can see to the ocean and Portland, trekking around the rim of an extinct volcano. A challenging course reaching the peak of Mt Eccles, and meandering through the rocky out crops and towering manna gums. The path guiding you back to the finish precinct, where every runner is welcomed across the line to celebrate their achievement.

10km, great option for intermediate runners taking on a slightly shorter option than the half marathon. The scenic route begins straight into the tranquil bush surrounds where you can relax into a calm rhythm listening to the rustle of manna gums and singing of the birds. The final stage brings runners back along the western rim of the volcanic crater and glimpses of Lake Surprise, with the path guiding you back to the finish precinct, where every runner is welcomed across the line to celebrate their achievement.

Half Marathon- challenging yet rewarding course, perfect for seasoned marathoners, ideal for those looking to test their endurance on a peaceful scenic route. The recently refurbished tracks of rolled stone provide great running conditions for those who are chasing their PB’s. AG Warehouse Heywood have generously donated cattle and sheep drenches with the proceeds going to the Macarthur pool. 1 Alleva Icon F 3ltr injectable herd pack for cattle for worms and liver fluke Normally $825. 1 5ltr Alleva Quartet for sheep doses all worms including barbers pol. We are open to offers above $675 for cattle drench and $310 for sheep drench. Can deliver to area's around Macarthur including Hamilton, Portland and Warrnambool.

Exciting things are happening in our off season. We are beyond excited to announce the launch of our first ever Budj Bim Lava Blast. A running event for all ages and abilities. Keep an eye on our page for details and updates. 🌋🏃‍♂️

We need your old photos of the pool. If you’re unable to scan and forward them on. We suggest using a smart phone to take a picture of your photo. Place a piece of blutac behind the photo stick it to the wall in a well-lit space, in natural light, then take a picture of the whole photo, ensure there are no shadows or reflections. We should be able to edit these pictures for us to use in our celebrations.
