Loxton State Emergency Service

Loxton State Emergency Service Official page for the Loxton SES. The SES is part of a national network of similar services in each State and Territory around Australia.

The State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer emergency service organisation which gives immediate assistance during emergencies and disasters. We also provide community response to 'day to day' incidents such as vehicle accidents, searches, cliff rescues, flood and storm damage situations and any other incidents that might require rescue or search services. More than 1,600 SES Volunteers are m

embers of 67 Units across South Australia. Volunteers provide emergency response to the community of South Australia 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The SES also cooperates closely with other statutory emergency services and has storm and flood relief as responsibilities in State legislation. As the Hazard Leader and Control Agency for extreme weather in South Australia, the SES aims to increase community awareness and preparedness relating to extreme weather events. A well prepared community is better able to respond to and recover from an emergency. To become an SES volunteer phone 1300 364 587 or visit the Join the SES page.

One of the capabilities of State Emergency Service volunteers is Road Crash Rescue

SES Road Crash Rescue volunteers are trained and equipped to safely extricate and provide first aid to those involved in crashes and support other emergencies.

Volunteers work together to stabilise vehicles and safely extricate trapped or injured people using appropriate tools and techniques.

Thank you to our rescue volunteers for your skill, professionalism and dedication.

πŸ”ΆοΈ It's WOW day!!! πŸ§‘πŸŽ‰
πŸ”ΆοΈ Wear Orange Wednesday is a nod to the amazing work that SES volunteers do in times of community need. Often sacrificing time from family, loved one's and employment to help. For this, we say thankyou πŸ’—πŸ’—

πŸ”ΆοΈ Member of the month ~ Laura πŸ”ΆοΈ

Laura is a relatively new member having joined in November. In those few months, Laura has already completed multiple trainings such as tool kits, rooftop safety systems, and is set to do Road Crash Rescue next!

Laura has great aspirations of heading off on deployments to assist in other communities, and gaining a huge array of certifications and skills. πŸ‘

Laura joined SES as helping the community gives her a sense of pride which she does miss from her ADF days 🫢

In Laura's own words "My favourite part about being in the SES is knowing I'm doing good for the community and helping those in need".

Thanks so much for your contributions and dedication Laura! 🧑
