~Lest We Forget~

Today members from the Lowanna RFB attended the Anzac March & Ceremony at the Ulong Ex-Servicemen and Women's Club with our colleagues from the Ulong Rural Fire Brigade. A very moving tribute to everyone who has served our Country and a pleasant morning was had by all. The beautiful wreaths were made by local Ellie who is also a member of the Ulong RFB.

Hi Everyone, as per Nana Glen Rural Fire Brigade's post this morning, expect a bit of smoke up here tonight. There are also some pile burns going on in Moleton as well. As always, if you see an unattended fire, call 000. Goodnight.

Morning folks, Coffs Coast Team volunteers are on the ground now at the Bagawa fire, burning to the west of Nana Glen. The fire is being managed by a very capable Clarence Valley incident controller, and our volunteers today will work to establish containment lines along the eastern edge of the fire in the Ellems Quarry Road area. Conditions are good. Locals may see significant smoke from the fire today and into Wednesday night (15/4) as backburning is carried out.

🔥 Planning a pile burn on your property in NSW (excluding Fire and Rescue jurisdiction)?
There are a few simple steps to follow to make sure it’s done safely and legally.
Clear a mineral earth break around your pile
Keep your pile under 1mtr high, and
you’ll need to notify online 💻– https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/BFDP/burn-notifications – and let your neighbours know at least 24 hours in advance.
✅ Help keep you, your neighbours and your community safe.

Regional Exercise 2026 is underway in Glen Innes this weekend. A training exercise for all Northern NSW Districts and a few Queenslanders. Each strike team participates in 12 scenarios over the weekend to enhance skills, acquire new expertise and have a bit of fun. One of our members got to do this today, said it was the best fun but prepared them if ever there's a need to do it in real-life.
