A few of the shedders spent nearly a year restoring this circa 1930 rocking horse which was in pretty poor condition when it arrived at the shed. They've stripped it back to bare wood and have done a fantastic job of spray painting, fitting a new leather saddle and bridle, new mane and replacing nearly all fittings. Horse is now for sale, $2500. Grab it for Christmas! contact Allan Walls on 0418 319 533 if interested

The Forrest Men's Shed and Lorne and District Men's Shed recently welcomed a special visit from international researchers exploring how sheds support community connection and wellbeing.

Japanese social neuroscientist Dr Ayahito Ito and psychologist Dr Risa Takashima toured 14 sheds across Victoria to learn more about the Australian Men’s Shed model, with hopes to grow their own Japanese Community Shed Association.

The visit highlighted how the shed movement has become one of Australia’s most successful social exports, inspiring communities around the world.

A big congratulations to Forrest Men’s Shed and Lorne & District Men’s Shed for showcasing the spirit of inclusivity, mateship, and community that makes sheds so special. 👏
