🔥🚨🔥Tomorrow Greater Sydney’s Fire Danger Rating is Extreme with a Total Fire Ban in place. This includes the entire of the Sutherland Shire. For more info visit https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and-tobans

A Total Fire Ban will be in place tomorrow, Saturday 5 September for the Greater Sydney Region, with Extreme fire danger forecast.

Warm, dry and windy conditions are forecast across parts of the state, with much of northeast NSW experiencing High fire danger.

Take action now. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Remember to report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade will be participating in this planned hazard reduction this coming Friday 4th September 🔥🚒

🔥 HAZARD REDUCTION BURN - LLANBERIS DRIVE, MENAI 🔥

The NSW Rural Fire Service will be conducting a planned hazard reduction burn in Menai on Friday, 4 September 2026, weather and conditions permitting.

The burn will cover approximately 10 hectares and is being undertaken to reduce bush fire fuels and help protect nearby homes and the community.

Motorists are reminded to drive to the conditions if smoke affects visibility, and nearby residents should keep windows and doors closed if affected by smoke.

Cindy passed her firefighter assessment today along with a few other NSW RFS Illawarra Sutherland Team members.

Sunday 19th July Loftus hosted the first of two street meetings, this was a great chance for those residents in Loftus south to meet some of our brigade members and discuss how to plan for bushfires, preparing homes, bushfire alert levels and how to source bushfire information.
