Good Afternoon Everyone
I wanted to begin by saying how incredibly proud I was of our students yesterday. Their efforts, attitude, and behaviour were outstanding—both on and off the track.
To our competing team members—Priya, Tom C, Alexis, Xavier, Oscar, Archer, Willem, Aiden, Brydee, Emily, Maisie and Tom R—thank you for giving your absolute best all day. You pushed through challenges, from tangled seatbelts during construction to other carts blocking our path, yet you showed determination, teamwork, and resilience. You did an amazing job representing our school and made us all very proud.
To the parents, siblings, and grandparents who came along to support the school—thank you for your encouragement and positivity throughout the day.
A big thank you also goes to our staff. Without your dedication, support and enthusiasm, the day simply wouldn’t happen, nor would it be anywhere near as successful.
We extend our gratitude to our sponsors for 2025—PRD, JTMEC, Pepper Accounting, ELCON Concreting, Bendigo Towing and Haulage, GrainCorp, Stebbins Bus Lines, Searle Brothers Construction, ITS Equipment, and Keatings Transport. Without your generous support, we would not even be able to enter the competition.
Days like yesterday don’t just happen. They take weeks and months of preparation—planning, fundraising, cart work, training and setup—all of which require a huge commitment. I want to say a very special thank you to Brad and Jen Pepper for giving up countless hours to help with training and for transporting and setting up the trailer yesterday. Your contribution has been invaluable.
All the time and effort was reflected in our results. We finished 2nd overall for schools with under 200 enrolments—just half a point behind first place. The competition is made up of three components:
• Design – which we tied for first
• Display (Video) – which we won
• Track events – where we placed third
This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the hard work and passion of everyone involved.
