🚧 Repairs Begin on the New England Highway 🚧
We’ve all felt the impact—literally—of the deteriorating road conditions on the New England Highway. Between relentless rain, increased traffic, and heavy vehicle movements, our cars (and spines!) bear the brunt of this vital but weather-worn route.
Last week, Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan MP met with Minister for Roads Jenny Aitchison MP, and we’re pleased to share that a commitment was made to begin repair works this week, with road crews being relocated to the New England Highway.
On behalf of Save and Grow Guyra Ratepayers Inc., we’ve also reached out to a senior manager at Transport for NSW, who has encouraged the community to provide direct feedback on transport issues. You can lodge your concerns and suggestions via this link:

If you're concerned about drivers not adhering to roadwork speed limits or unsafe behaviour on our roads, please contact the Police directly.
Let’s keep raising our voices for safer, stronger roads in the Northern Tablelands. 💬🚗

The Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plans are tailored to address the evolving transport needs and aspirations of regional NSW over a 20-year horizon, ensuring everyone has access to safe, reliable, and efficient transport options.

The public forum hosted by Save and Grow Guyra Ratepayers Inc. at the Guyra Bowling & Recreation Club last night was well-attended. Key speakers included Brendan Moylan, MP for Northern Tablelands, and Cr Eli Imad from Armidale Regional Council.

Brendan addressed pressing issues like youth crime, regional healthcare, and the impact of renewable energy zones (REZs) on local communities. He emphasised the need for better youth crime reform and urged feedback on healthcare bills affecting rural hospitals. He also acknowledged concerns about REZ developments, promising to continue advocating for local interests despite political challenges.

Eli highlighted council projects, such as the push for the return of rail services and the rehabilitation of Mother of Ducks Lagoon. He also addressed concerns over the council’s decision to accept funds for a renewable energy battery project, reaffirming his opposition to further energy developments in the area.

The forum ended on a positive note, with Save and Grow Guyra Ratepayers Inc. expressing confidence in the strong representation the community has at both the state and local levels. The organisation praised Brendan Moylan, MP, and Cr Eli Imad for their dedication to listening to residents and tackling the challenges facing regional NSW. It was clear that ongoing dialogue between the community and its elected officials is crucial to ensuring that the voices of Guyra and surrounding areas continue to shape their future.
