I see there is alot of talk about policies, where all candidates stand etc…

I am a candidate who is running for the community and the communities questions and advice.

I strongly believe that all candidates should run for the strength and future of our beautiful town and not for themselves or egos.

In myself I am a family orientated person and yes I also pay rates like the rest of the community.

That’s why I find it so important to have a voice in council that stands for our community and listen to the people of our community.

Yes, not everything goes to plan but if we together really work as a united council a lot of things will move forward.

I’m just a guy putting my hand up to run on council and benefit the ratepayers, the future and the present of our community.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email [email protected]

11 August 2024

Cass Coleman Community Group Campaign Launch.

I was recently asked why am I running for council once again? What would your goals be for another term?

This was my response.

As a Councillor you represent the views of the community that elects you.

A Councillor provides a bridge between council and community.

A Councillor can also provide a bridge between the community and the current State and Federal Government.

It is no secret that I am the President of the local branch of the Australian Labor Party and I use that position to strongly advocate for our region at every opportunity.

The past three years that bridge between community and council is in a state of disrepair. The lack of respect for the community that I have witnessed has been deplorable, no one is listening.

The community has been very clear regarding the special rate variation, the waste incinerator and the Lake Lyell pumped hydro project.

The goal of my vibrant, fresh, community focused team is to ensure that those currently underrepresented are heard.

The community can trust that our team will stand by our strong values and remain committed to working for the people.

I have a proven record of always advocating to the best of my ability what is best for Greater Lithgow after listening to the community who have chosen to engage with me.

I also am very aware of ensuring that projects that benefit all the community are given priority.

We have a responsibility not to waste public money on frivolous activities that are simply window dressing.

We also believe that it is so important that each member of the community feels listened to and supported.

My goal is simply working towards a better today for tomorrow by supporting the community.

August 1st marks the universal birthday of horses in the Southern Hemisphere.

Coinciding with this celebration Mark McAulay was given the privilege of becoming the Amaroo Equine Ambassador for a period of three months in 2023.

Amaroo Equine draws on evidence-based research to create authentic connections with horses and nature to heal, support and empower individuals of all ages, abilities and walks of life.

Promoting healing and transformation through psychotherapy and education.

Mark, himself participated in numerous activities where he gained practical skills with unfamiliar power tools, farm machinery maintenance, and fencing.

In addition to learning about the grooming, water and feed management for the horses.

Mark proved that his ability is that he will never be limited or pigeonholed.

Marks can-do attitude to life previously secured him a world ranking in Table Tennis in 2007, placing Mark in the running for the Olympics.

No one understands better than Mark about the needs required on a daily basis for people living with special needs or disability.

Mark's perspective, where he sees and experiences the world from a different angle, makes Mark an absolute valued member of the Cass Coleman Community Group team, making sure that the most vulnerable in our society are not forgotten or forsaken.

We are pleased to announce the final member of the Team is Mark McAulay.

Sports in Lithgow are becoming very slim with numbers within the last decade.

I have spoken to numerous sporting people in our community and many people are saying the same thing.

“Our town doesn’t have the facilities like other regional town’s around us”.

A council as one needs to make the steps to have a multi sports complex.
This would bring so many great sports to our town and opportunities.

This would be a long and thought out process but I would be more than happy to start this off on the right foot if elected or not.

I know there is alot involved in this from:

▪️Site and selection planning.
▪️Designs of fields and Seating Capacity.
▪️Safety and Accessibility.
▪️Form and Structure.
▪️Infrastructure and Facilities.
▪️Environmental Considerations.
▪️Community Engagement.
▪️Government Grants.
▪️Future Expansion.
▪️Parking.

There is alot more to go into but just to name a few.
Let’s make a change as one and together.

INFRASTRUCTURE!!

If I’m successful in the upcoming Local Government Council Elections on September the 14th this is my number one priority coming into council.

I believe the council needs to go back to basics and build from there.

Allocate the funding to these matters urgently.

Start at the basics and improve from there.

These matters include:

▪️ Local Roads.
▪️Pavement on Main Street.
▪️ Stormwater and Sewerage.

Cold and windy day down at Majorie Jackson Soccer Fields today.

There was some hard fought matches, all played in good spirits.

Great to see a lot of supporters also braving the cold and coming down to support the Lithgow Workman’s Soccer Club.

A club I have had a lot of involvement with for 10+ years and also Life Member of this great club.
