Friending Staff on Facebook
Please note that the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers ‘Friending’ parents on Facebook:
The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal. In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends.

Our boys touch football team travelled to Evans Head to play Evans River in the next round of the PSSA competition. The game was highly contested, and while we did not come away with the victory, the boys played their hearts out. We are incredibly proud of them!

🚒 Fire Safety at WRPS! 🚒

Our Year 1 and 2 students had an amazing time learning all about fire safety! They watched an exciting demonstration of the fire hose and even got to walk through the fire truck cabin - what a fantastic hands-on experience!

A huge thank you to Fire and Rescue Lismore for visiting our school and sharing their expertise. It’s so important for our children to know how to stay safe in emergencies. 🔥🚒

What a game!

On Friday, the boys played their first match in the PSSA Touch Football knockout competition. The opposition came out strongly, scoring the opening try within the first few minutes. Our boys responded with determination, working their way back into the game to level the score at 3–3 by half-time.

The second half was a nail-biter, featuring some outstanding defensive efforts and a spectacular length-of-the-field intercept try. In a tense finish, the boys held firm to secure a hard-fought 5–4 victory.

The team played exceptionally well, showing excellent sportsmanship and resilience throughout the match. We now advance to the next round of the competition, which will be played in the coming weeks.

Our talented choir students wowed the audience as they took to the stage at the Compass Music Festival, singing with infectious energy and enthusiasm. The event was expertly hosted by our very own Year 6 stars, Caelan and Piper, who did a fantastic job keeping the crowd engaged and entertained. It was a joyful celebration of music and school spirit, and we are so proud of everyone who represented Wyrallah Road Public School. Congratulations to all involved!
