🌟Some great news!🌟

Today we received our brand-new twin-cab support vehicle, which will assist in how we support our local community.

The vehicle offers strong transport and ute capability, giving our volunteers greater flexibility. It will help us access more remote areas, tow trailers, boost logistics, and generally strengthen our emergency response for the local area to keep the community safe.

A big thank you to the VESEP grant program which includes community raised funds and state government funding for making it possible!

A Severe Weather Warning for Damaging and locally Destructive Winds has been issued across all forecast districts for tomorrow, Wednesday, 22 October.

We're expecting Damaging winds to develop over most of the state, with locally destructive wind gusts possible about the southwest coast from the late morning.

Locations which may be affected include Horsham, Warrnambool, Bendigo, Shepparton, Seymour, Maryborough, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Wangaratta, Traralgon and Bairnsdale.

Now is the time to prepare. Community members can prepare by safely securing loose items such as outdoor furniture, trampolines and umbrellas and by parking vehicles undercover or away from trees where possible. Victorians are also encouraged to limit unnecessary travel, particularly in coastal and heavily wooded areas.

To stay up-to-date with warnings, download the mobile app and establish a personal watch-zone or visit www.bom.gov.au/vic/warnings.

For VICSES emergency assistance, call 132 500.

As a requirement for SES units to stay Road Crash Rescue qualified, units undergo an assessment night to ensure their volunteers are capable of conducting rescue techniques during a road crash incident.

🎉Your local Lismore SES volunteers underwent their assessment in September and PASSED with flying colours! 🎉

Our dedicated volunteers undertake many nights of training and further training after the assessment to ensure they can provide the community with such an important service.
