🧡 A beautiful event for our Somerset community 🧡

Somerset Regional Council are launching their Dementia Friendly initiative along with a very special children’s book following a nanna living with dementia as she travels around the Somerset region — Our little Linville Café even made it into the story. I feel incredibly honoured to be part of something so meaningful.

Having lost my own mum to dementia, this one is very close to my heart. The more awareness, understanding and compassion we create in our communities, the better.

Meet Charlie and Dave! 🚲🇳🇿

They’re travelling around Australia on their tandem bike and popped into Linville the other day for a Cake in a Can (Now Kiwi approved 😆) and today stopped back in for coffee! (Also approved) 😊

Thankfully today was a little quieter, so we actually got to stop and chat properly — and honestly, hearing people’s stories is one of the best parts of this place.

They’re from Christchurch and arrived into Brisbane Airport before jumping straight on the bike and heading towards the BVRT. They’ve now completed the end-to-end and are making their way back through the BVRT before continuing all the way to Melbourne… by tandem bike! Absolute legends.

Of course I had to ask the important question… who rides on the back? 😂
Charlie told me it’s her spot, but she swears she never secretly stops pedalling without Dave noticing.

(Sorry Al… I absolutely would 😅)

LLAMAS & LATTES ARE COMING TO LINVILLE 🦙☕️ FIRST WALK SATURDAY 6th June.

Yep… this is officially happening. Our collab with our friends at ottaballamas and we are excited.

Saturday June 6th, you’ll be able to grab brunch, cold brew, lattes, cakes in a can… and then walk a llama through Linville 🤠

PLAN YOUR PERFECT “L” DAY:
🥓 Long brunch at Linville Cafe
☕ Latte or cold brew with foam
🦙 Llama walk with Ottaba Llamas
🍰 Load up on cakes in a can
🍺 Maybe finish with a lager at the pub 😅

First walk kicks off from 9:30am Saturday June 6th.

Only 4 llamas can be walked along the BVRT at once so spots are limited! Bookings are now open — DM to secure your spot 🦙

BREAKFAST SHIRTS IN LINVILLE 😂☕️

So apparently people do actually randomly pull into tiny country towns…

Mark from Breakfast Shirts rolled into Linville unannounced today, smashed a big breaky, had his picollo, got the full grand tour of town (all 7 minutes of it 😅) and then hit the road again.

Population: 136
Traffic lights: 0
Country charm: elite 🤠

Pretty cool that someone who didn’t have to stop in a town of 136 people took the time to come check out little Linville. Appreciate you making the trip out.☕️

No actual busy photos from us because honestly… we didn’t stop moving long enough to take any 😂

Cold brew flowing.
Gourmet toasties flying out.
Cakes disappearing faster than we can make them.(literally) sorry if you missed out! 😔

Creamy Nutella meets smooth cold brew over ice and honestly… she’s a little dramatic in the best way. (Just as dramatic as our regulars Biscoff, Pistachio and KitKat which are all available this weekend also)
