Today, we were delighted to welcome a number of our wonderful parents into school as part of our Maths in the Community program. Our students had the opportunity to hear first-hand how mathematics is used in different careers, workplaces and everyday life, helping them to see that maths is so much more than just numbers and equations in the classroom!

These real-life experiences helped our students make meaningful connections between what they are learning at school and the world around them. A huge thank you to all of our parents for generously giving their time, sharing their knowledge and inspiring our students to see the value and importance of mathematics in their own lives. We truly appreciate your support! βž—πŸ“ˆπŸ‘¨β€πŸ«πŸŸ°

On Wednesday and Thursday, our Year 1 and Year 2 students embarked on an unforgettable journey to the Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre. This Stage 1 Geography adventure led them deep into the stunning Bobbin Head area in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. 🏞️

Through an engaging geographical inquiry process, our young learners discovered the unique natural wonders 🌸🦘 and fascinating human features πŸ‘πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ that make this place so special. They also explored how people interact with and care for this beautiful environment πŸ›€οΈπŸ’§, gaining valuable lessons on protecting our natural world for generations to come. πŸ’šπŸŒ

A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre for creating such a memorable and inspiring experience for our students! πŸ™ŒπŸ˜Š

πŸ§Έβ˜€οΈ Yesterday was a magical day for our new Kindergarten 2027 students, Kindergarten 2026 and their Year 5 & 6 buddies! πŸ§’πŸ‘§πŸ‘¦

Everyone enjoyed a Teddy Bears’ Picnic in the sunshine – listening to a lovely story, exploring the fairy garden and playing together on the equipment. πŸŒˆπŸ“–πŸŒ»

Your little ones had a fantastic time making memories, laughing and soaking up the sunshine with their buddies and fluffy friends! πŸ’›πŸ»

Thank you to all involved for making this a special day. We can’t wait to see them for our Kindergarten transition next term! πŸŽ‰βœ¨

Today Kindergarten embarked on their first excursion. We travelled to Centennial Park where we explored the natural area 🌱, visited a bat colony πŸ¦‡, and made shelters and mud maps. We also got to play in the amazing WildPlay play area. It was a wonderful day of exploration for our youngest learners.

🎢🎺 What an incredible day at our school! Today, we had the privilege of welcoming the NSW Police Band, Australia's oldest and longest continuously running concert band, formed back in 1895!

The band performed popular tunes that had our students and teachers singing and dancing along with joy! πŸŽ€πŸŽ‰ The highlight was their special collaboration with our very own Performance Band to play a fantastic version of "Jingle Bell Rock" πŸŽ„πŸŽΈ.

It was truly an amazing concert filled with fun, music and community spirit! A big thank you to the NSW Police Band for sharing their talent with us today! πŸ™ŒπŸ‘

🌟 Exciting Leadership Journey 🌟

This year, Miss Mair, Miss Arnison and Mr Cox had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Dee Why Cross Network Aspiring Leaders Program! πŸ’Όβœ¨

Over five inspiring sessions, we dived deep into leadership skills, including:
πŸ“Š Data-informed leadership
πŸ’¬ Effective feedback & conversations
πŸ”„ Change management
πŸ“š Action research presentations

Our project focused on using effective questioning as a powerful tool within our whole-school approach to explicit teaching. Through professional learning, stage check-ins, learning walks and question banks, we helped transform questioning from an incidental practice to a deliberate strategyβ€”boosting student thinking, engagement and participation! πŸŽ“πŸ’‘πŸ™Œ

This experience not only sharpened our leadership capabilities but also reinforced the importance of communication, positive relationships and supporting growth within our school community. We’re excited to continue this journey and make a meaningful difference for our students! πŸ’ͺ❀️
