NSW RFS - Alphadale Brigade

Over the last couple of days, two of our members had to opportunity to participate in a weekend-long course in swiftwater rescue, presented by our friends from VRA Rescue NSW in Nymboida.

With newly acquired skills in rope systems, swiftwater dynamics, rescue swimming techniques and much more, our two new technicians will be a strong asset for the local community at whatever emergency they will be required at. 🌊

Over the weekend 2 crew from Alphadale along with members from Clunes and Whiporie attended the Northern Exercise at Glen Innes. Alphadale also had a member acting as a Strike Team Leader during the exercise.

Over the weekend members worked together through 12 different training scenarios to complement existing skills and to gain new skills.

One of our members worked hard and earnt the Blake Skinner Trophy - Crew Encouragement Award. The brigade Congratulates our young member on their success.

Massive thanks to all the people who pull the Exercise together and make it so worthwhile for all crews to learn from each other and practice their skills.

We are already making plans for next year and we are excited to continue to participate in the Northern Exercise in the following years.

🎅 Alphadale Santa Run 2025 🎅

We have just recieved word that Santa has confirmed his schedule and is all ready to come for a ride with Alphadale Rural Fire Brigade around the McLeans Ridges, Tregeagle, and upper Goonellabah areas this Christmas Eve!

And for those lucky enough to be on his nice list, we’ve also heard that he will have some little treats to hand out!

Please note: Santa is very busy this time of year, and will be stopping only at the locations below as he travels around the streets. We will also be using a live tracking system as we travel around, so keep your eyes peeled for a post on the day for the link!

🎅 Alphadale Brigade Santa Run 2025! 🎅

Santa was so impressed with the turnout from our community last year that he has just confirmed he will be joining us this Christmas Eve for another Santa Run!

We'll be confirming his specific travel itinerary in the coming weeks, but we do know that he'll be visiting the McLeans Ridges, Tregeagle, and Upper Goonellabah areas with lollies for everyone on his nice list ☺️

Thanks for having us Tregeagle Playgroup. We are glad the kids had a blast (along with some of the parents) :-)

Wow! What a fun morning yesterday was! Huge thanks to NSW RFS - Alphadale Brigade volunteers for bringing the truck out to show us all around and even have a turn using the fire hose! We hope everyone enjoyed their morning and it was nice to meet some new families, hope to see you all next week!

As of October 1st, permits are required.
Permits are available online as well as in paper copy this year. So, if you wish to obtain a permit, you can follow the link below and a permit-issuing officer from your area will contact you to do an inspection, after which you will be given a permit.
Alternatively, you can call your local permit officers as you have always done.

Notifying the RFS and all adjoining neighbours a minimum of 24 hours prior is a requirement 365 days a year via the link below.

Permit issuing officers are all volunteers, so please plan ahead and allow a few days for one of our members to attend. If we don’t answer, please leave a short message with your name, address, the best contact number, and a time to call you back and we will as soon as we can.

We will also be hosting a sausage sizzle (all snags purchased directly support the Brigade) and showing off the truck 🚒
