🔎 Have you spotted something wild lately? The Melbourne Biodiversity Blitz is officially underway!

Throughout September, we’re challenging our community to get outside, discover the plants and animals around us and record as many species as possible on iNaturalist.

You don’t need to be a wildlife expert – just spot it, snap it and share it!

Your observations help scientists and researchers better understand the incredible biodiversity in the Yarra Ranges, while helping us compete against other Councils across Melbourne.

Behind every statistic is a carer making an incredible difference every day.

This October, join us as we recognise, celebrate and thank carers across our community at the Carers Concert 2026.

We will celebrate the remarkable contributions of carers across our community. Enjoy live performances, connect with local support services, and share an afternoon of music, community and recognition.

Designed for people aged 50+, this free session will provide practical tips and expert advice to help you stay active, healthy and connected.

📚 Temporary closure – Wednesday, 2 September

All libraries across Yarra Ranges will be closed on Wednesday, 2 September, which means the Yarra Junction Community Link will also be temporarily closed.

Our other Community Links at Lilydale, Healesville, Upwey and Monbulk will remain open as usual.

The Yarra Junction Community Link will reopen at the Library on Thursday, 3 September.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

🔵 PLEASE NOTE:
Due to an all-staff training day, all libraries with the exception of Realm, will be CLOSED on Wednesday 3 September, 2025.

Realm Library will be open from 9am-8pm.
Note: Storytimes will not run.

Biodiversity Month is almost here, which means it’s time to get your cameras ready… 📸🌿

This September, Yarra Ranges is taking part in the Melbourne Biodiversity Blitz – a friendly competition between Councils to see who can record the most wild plants, animals and fungi.

And we need your help!

Whether you’re exploring a local trail, walking the dog or pottering around your backyard, keep an eye out for the wildlife and plants around you. Snap a photo, upload it to iNaturalist and your observation will help scientists learn more about the incredible biodiversity in our community.
