1 June is the the first day of winter and Smoke Alarm Action Day.
Use it as your reminder to test your smoke alarms and make sure they’re working properly.
It only takes a minute, and it could save your life. A working smoke alarm can halve the risk of death in a house fire and is one of the simplest ways to protect your home and family.

Today is Smoke Alarm Action Day, and together with fire agencies across
Australia we are asking everyone to check their smoke alarms.

CFA and FRV are joining fire services across Australia for Smoke Alarm Action Day on 1 June, urging Victorians to test their smoke alarms and check they are correctly installed and in working order.

This year, CFA and FRV are asking households to go a step further and consider whether their smoke alarms provide enough warning if a fire starts while someone is asleep.

Fire investigation data shows sleeping areas are the most common points of ignition in residential fires that result in serious injury or death.

Smoke alarm

You can't smell smoke when you're asleep 😴💤

All smoke alarms in your home should be interconnected - this means that no matter where a fire starts - all alarms will sound.

Lethbridge CFA's support extends beyond just the Lethbridge Community.

While the rest of the Brigade trained on Wednesday night in Lethbridge, our membership also travelled to Dereel to support in the facilitation of a training session for our District 7 Women's Network

A great opportunity to share skills, experience and learn with the Woman in our ranks.

Tonight the members of the Lethbrigde CFA completed their 6 monthly recertification of their BA (breathing apparatus).

The primary school was used as tonight’s structure fire.

The volunteers spent time completing drills, noting points of interest at the site including water points, gas cylinder and electrical board.

It was a great team effort and brushing up on their skills.

Well Done to all the team.
