Have you seen one of these birds?

They are both very aggressive birds, however while the Noisy Miner is native, the Common (or Indian) Myna is introduced and is ranked as one of the worlds 100 most invasive species and is impacting our native small birds.

Report any sightings of Indian / Common Mynas to: http://www.feralscan.org.au/mynascan
[email protected]
https://ebird.org
https://birdata.birdlife.org.au

Include the location, number of Mynas and date of sighting.
Approximate sightings from 2025 are also welcome.

Any sightings in urban, bushland or roadside locations need to be reported.

Records are needed to understand the scope and size of their invasion so that we can lobby local Councils to inform residents about actions to take.

: In another big win for wildlife, has announced it will remove all second-generation rat poisons (SGARs) from shelves by 30 June 2026, following the regulatorโ€™s updated recommendation for a full retail ban of these wildlife-killing poisons

This comes 9 months ahead of the mandated deadline for their removal.

The decision follows a petition from near 40,000 of our supporters calling on Bunnings to act. Your signatures and tags have helped make Bunnings the first retailer to commit to removing SGARs from shelves.

Removing these long-lasting poisons as soon as possible is a critical step for protecting wildlife, helping to reduce further deaths while these recommendations are finalised.

We thank Bunnings for taking this step and hope it encourages Woolworths, Mitre 10, Coles and other retailers to follow suit as soon as possible.

Let's keep the good news rolling ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿฆ‰
