Through the latest Industry Investment Program, 95 sport and recreation organisations will share in funding to strengthen participation, support volunteers, build organisational capability and create more opportunities for Western Australians to get involved in sport and active recreation.

The investment helps ensure clubs, associations and recreation organisations can continue delivering the programs, pathways and experiences that keep communities connected and active.

🏉 The Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 is looking for volunteers.

Applications are now open for Team27, the official volunteer team that will help deliver one of the world's biggest sporting events when the tournament comes to Australia.

Volunteers will be at the heart of the action both on and off the field, welcoming fans, supporting event operations and helping create unforgettable match-day experiences.

⛸️ History made on the ice.

At just 16 years old, Perth skater Hana Bath has become the first Australian woman to win an ISU Junior Grand Prix gold medal, delivering a stunning performance in Latvia to top the podium.

Hana landed two triple Axels on her way to victory, adding another remarkable chapter to a year that has already included becoming the first Australian woman to win a medal at the ISU World Junior Championships.

Congratulations, Hana. We can't wait to see what comes next. 👏

🏀 Construction has officially begun on the Bunbury Community Courts!

This major project, delivered by the Bunbury Basketball Association , will feature six new indoor courts and create more space for sport across the South West.

When complete, the state-of-the-art facility will help meet growing demand for basketball and other indoor sports, while strengthening Bunbury's reputation as a regional sporting hub.

From weekday training to major tournaments, this is a project that will support local athletes, clubs and communities for years to come.

It’s also another step forward for the WA Government’s ‘PlayOn WA’ initiative, helping guide 2,030 sport and recreation infrastructure projects across the State through to 2030.

🎾 The lights are on at Esperance Tennis Club.

Esperance Tennis Club is shining brighter, with new sustainable LED floodlights helping extend court time for players of all ages and abilities.

For the historic club's 200-plus members, it means greater access to the courts and an increase in available coaching services while improving sustainability efforts.

Supported through PlayOn WA, it's a simple change that will make a big difference for the local tennis community.

The redeveloped WA State Squash Centre is open and has already begun to welcome local players and international competitors alike 🏆

Opening at the perfect time for the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships, the upgraded venue features new international-standard glass-backed courts, improved lighting, enhanced accessibility and better facilities for players and spectators alike.

Backed through the WA Government’s PlayOn WA, this project is helping more Western Australians get involved in sport while strengthening WA's reputation as a world-class destination for major events.

For 20 years, Jan has helped Peel seniors stay active, connected and engaged through her volunteer leadership with the Seniors Recreation Council of WA (SRCWA) Peel Branch.

Recognised with an OAM in 2020, Jan's legacy lives on through the many programs and opportunities she helped create for seniors across the region.
