Murray NSW SES

Murray NSW SES The NSW SES is a volunteer organisation that serves the community during floods & storms and helps other emergency services when they need help.

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community. It is made up almost entirely of volunteers, with 228 units located throughout New South Wales. The units comprise of approximately 10,000 volunteer members, who are easily identified by their distinctive orange overalls. While our major responsibilities are for flood and storm operations

, the SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural) and other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats. Volunteers in a number of isolated communities have been trained as Community First Responders by the Ambulance Service of New South Wales. The Service's trained rescuers also support the full-time emergency services during major disasters.

The Murray River at Barham is currently at 5.68 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Murray River at Barham may peak around 5.70 m Wednesday into Thursday, with minor flooding. The river is likely to remain above the minor flood level (5.50 m) through to early next week.

The Murray River at Bringenbrong peaked at 3.02 m around 12:00 am Wednesday 26 August, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 2.72 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Murray River at Bringenbrong is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m).

The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 3.11 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Murray River at Jingellic may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

⚠️ A minor flood warning has been issued for Tumut River due to rainfall forecast from late Monday night into Tuesday.
