This week, Fire Fighters from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 358 Laurieton had the amazing opportunity to conduct Pre Ed at Camden Haven Anglican Church Playtime. PRE ED is a fire safety education program for children aged 3 to 6 years.

During our visit,
👍Fire fighters discussed the importance of smoke alarms, and why they are important to have in your home
👍The kids got to meet Captain Bate in his full turnout gear and wearing his SCBA and how to get a fire fighters attention if they are trapped in a house fire or need help
👍we talked about having a home fire escape plan, and had heaps of fun getting down low and go,
go, go👉Shout “Fire, Fire, Fire!”👉Hold the back of your
hand up to the door👉Close doors behind you👉Get out and stay out👉Go to your safe meeting
place👉Call Triple Zero (000)👉Wait for Fire Fighters.

We had some amazing questions from the kids, and afterwards they all had an opportunity to see our fire truck and learnt how to use a fire hose.

PRE ED course is open to all early childhood center's, if you think your students could learn life changing skills please contact your local Fire and Rescue NSW station and book it in, and who knows we may just inspire the next generation of girls and boys who want to be Fire fighters 😁

Before the sun rises, we remember.
Our ranks have long been shaped by military service. Firefighters who served in the World Wars, and in the conflicts and humanitarian crises since. The skills, the discipline, and the Anzac spirit carry across. Many never returned. Their names, and their sacrifice, are part of who we are. It is a connection that runs between our service and theirs, and one that continues to this day.

Laurieton Fire and Rescue will be throwing its doors open to the public THIS MAY for our open day!!

With important safety advice for adults and fun opportunities for the kids.☺️

When: Saturday the 9th of May from 10am until 2pm
Where: Laurieton fire station
