Jude's Café at Tailrace Jude’s Café is more than a café. It’s a place where people gather, conversations happen, and good is multiplied. Open 8:30am - 3pm, Tuesday - Sunday.

Every coffee poured supports local youth programs across our community. We are kids, mums, dads, grandpa's, grandma's, aunts, uncles and teenagers...we are united in wanting to come to the table to eat good and to enjoy life at the table. We want to giggle and laugh and enjoy life. We want to tell the people we love that breakfast is at 9 and lunch is at 12 and we're up for anything in between. We want our littles to have fun on the playground whilst we read that book, or have a chat with our friend. We want to gaze at the amazing view and give thanks for this amazing life that we get to live. We want to pass our joy and love onto others by giving a $1 from every meal to one of the following causes:
Shine - building self esteem in teenage girls in our local schools
Empart - Empowering women to have their own business in India, releasing them from the cycle of poverty. Syria - Supporting the refugees crisis
Be Her Freedom - releasing people all around the world from slave trafficking. We want to inspire love and romance once a month with our famous Date Night. 3 hours of uninterrupted conversation with the ones you love whilst your kids are looked after on site. So we hope you come and enjoy our little cafe.

Meet Frankie 🧇🤍
If you enjoyed the waffles at our Father’s Day Breakfast on Sunday, this is the woman behind them!

Frankie has been part of the Tailrace team for the past few years, and on Sunday she was busy making all those delicious waffles for our Father’s Day guests.

One of the things we love is seeing the people who work with us grow, dream and have a go at something of their own.
Frankie has turned her love of making seriously good waffles into her own little business, and you’ll find her serving them at Harvest Market.

And yes, we can confirm — they are delicious. 😋

So next time you’re wandering through Harvest Market, keep an eye out for Frankie, say hello and grab yourself a waffle.

When was the last time you sat across the table from each other and actually had time to talk?

Date Night at Tailrace is designed especially for parents.
You enjoy a beautiful three-course dinner while your children head off for their own evening of fun in Kids Paradise, cared for by our wonderful team of volunteers from Tailrace Community Church.

You’re close by if they need you — but for a few precious hours, someone else is entertaining the kids, there are no dishes waiting, and dinner is taken care of.

The Menu
To Begin
Breads, butter & dips

Main — choose from:
Spring Lamb Shank
Braised in Cabernet Sauvignon, creamed potato, minted greens, fried leek & demi pan jus
Smoked Duck Breast
Pumpkin polenta, espresso beetroot & Cointreau syrup

Dessert — choose from:
Lime Brûlée with hazelnut biscotti
Blackberry brandy pashka

And for the kids…
While you dine, the kids get to PLAY.

This is Taliah. 🤍
Taliah runs our Amity program, walking alongside girls for nine weeks as they talk about friendships, emotions, relationships, identity and some of the hard things that come with growing up.

And we reckon when she hears stories like Zoe’s, there has to be a little moment of, “Yep. This is why we do it.”

Zoe began the program withdrawn and struggling with friendships. Nine weeks later, she told us she felt differently because she now knew who she was — and that “nothing can change that.”

For the past three years, grant funding has helped Taliah and our team keep showing up for young people like Zoe.
That funding is now coming to an end.

The need isn’t

We want Taliah to keep walking into schools.

We want more young people to have these conversations.

And we want there to be many, many more stories like Zoe’s.

Sometimes the loveliest part of an event is hearing afterwards what it meant to people. ❤️
Our Date Night was never really meant to be just about dinner.
It was about creating a little breathing space for parents.

We loved reading these words from some of the families who joined us.
And perhaps our favourite was one of the simplest:
“We don’t get out at night, so we really appreciate it.”

That’s exactly why Date Night exists.
Thank you to every family who came, and to the beautiful team of staff and volunteers from Tailrace Community Church who helped make the evening possible. ❤️

What an amazing view to celebrate an amazing day. 🤍
There is something pretty special about looking out across the Tamar Valley as the light begins to fade, surrounded by the people you love most.

One of the things we love about weddings at Tailrace is that you don’t have to choose between being indoors and feeling connected to the landscape.
Floor-to-ceiling windows.

Warm lights overhead.
Good food around the table.
And that view as your backdrop.

We love to give back. 💛

This little card might look like it’s simply about coffee — buy five and the sixth is on us.

But for us, it represents something much bigger.
This week, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the generosity shown towards the work we do with young people.

Donations have come in, people have quietly given, and little by little we’re saving towards some pretty big dreams for our youth.

And it reminds us that generosity goes both ways.

Our Jude’s regulars choose to have coffee with us.
You meet here. Eat here. Bring your friends here.
You support our events, our young people and the work happening behind the scenes.

So sometimes, the coffee should simply be on us. ☕️
