Fire Danger Period

The Fire Danger Period for the Cardinia municipality will end on 07/04/2026. Until this date fire restrictions are still in place.
Be aware that even after the FDP is lifted any burn-offs must adhere to Council regulations, be performed safely and must be attended at all times.
Please ensure you register any burn-off either online via https://firepermits.vic.gov.au/ or by calling the Burn-Off Notification Line on 1800 668 511.

🚨 Product recall - Toyota Landcruiser 300 (FJA300R) 🚨

Fire risk: Due to a Transmission Control Module (TCM) programming issue, the transmission may rev faster than intended causing a loss of motive power and transmission fluid to leak. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a vehicle fire whilst driving.

A Total Fire Ban has been declared for the Central, Wimmera, South West, North Central and West & South Gippsland fire weather districts for Tuesday 17 February 2026.

No fires can be lit, or be allowed to remain alight, in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM.

No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12:01 AM on Sat, 24 Jan 2026 until 11:59 PM Sat, 24 Jan 2026.

It has been a busy few days locally and state wide. The first crew has just returned from a strike team based in Wangaratta, Longwood and Bonnie Doon.
