🔥 Taking on Beat the Burn! 🔥

This year, the Lambton 357 team is stepping into the “hurt locker” for a great cause! From 17th to 21st February, our crew will be running, riding, and rowing right here at the station.

Our goal? To clock up as many kilometres as possible while raising crucial funds and awareness for the Burns Unit at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and their Regional Outreach Clinics.

By the end of the week, we aim to make a sizeable donation and, more importantly, gain a deeper appreciation of the challenges these courageous young burn survivors have faced.

You can help by sharing this post or making a donation. Every dollar counts! 🙏🏽

Thank you for your support—it means the world to us and to the kids who benefit from this amazing cause.

Its time for the NSW Government to stand up, Respect, Protect and Value Firefighters.

While we continue to do the job we love and are trained to do in protecting the people of New South Wales, we need your help to let NSW Government know they need to:

- RESPECT: FRNSW and Government representatives come to the negotiating table in good faith with full bargaining parameters to prevent any further delay to our Awards being resolved.

- PROTECT: Presumptive legislation relating to occupational cancers is expanded to ensure we have compensation and protection from the full range of cancers we suffer from.

- VALUE: A fair wages offer is put on the table which reflects the skills, training, and work value of NSW professional firefighters

If you see us in public wearing our campaign shirts and have liquid chalk on our trucks, please come and have a chat to us about what we want from Premier Minns and the NSW Government.

Flood Rescue - Lambton

Sunday's Heavy downpour causes common flooding along Kendall and Morehead St in Lambton.

Flood Rescue Crews from 357 Lambton including 357 Bravo fire fighters responded to multiple vehicles in flood waters on Morehead St in Lambton.
Reports of a woman trapped in her vehicle in the water, required 357 Flood Rescue teams to gear up for a flood rescue.
Luckly, there was not a serious threat to life, and this incident was completed without too much trouble.
This event should be used as a reminder to everyone out there to never drive through flood waters.

Our crews then got the chance to meet the new owners of Lizotte's Newcastle with their current water front views.

Last month, firefighters from FRNSW attended an awards presentation held in Port Macquarie for the 2021 Mid-North Coast Flood Emergency.

A number of members of Strike Team Zulu, which included members from 357 Lambton, attend the presentation where they received the FRNSW Commissioners Unit Commendation for Courageous Action.

Strike Team Zulu was the only in-water flood rescue team in attendance at the peak of the flood emergency, and over a single 30-hour shift they responded to 40 individual flood rescue incidents, rescuing 220 people and 39 animals.

Commissioner Baxter also presented a Commissioner’s Commendation to Mrs. Shirley Manton, who accepted the award on behalf of her husband, Mr. Steve Manton who could not make it to the presentation.

On the morning of 20 March 2021, Steve, utilizing his oyster work punt, played a crucial role in assisting Strike Team Zulu evacuate numerous persons from premises along Hastings River Drive, Port Macquarie and also transported emergency helicopter crews into the airport to their aircraft which was isolated by flood waters, allowing them to continue on with their vital tasks.

Steve gave many hours assisting Strike Team Zulu and the local community, even though he himself had lost his home and business.

We thank you Steve for your amazing work on that day.
