Rules of Engagement:
In joining our community on Facebook, please be aware that Lake Munmorah High School’s page follows both the DoE Code of Conduct and Facebook terms and conditions. What this means for our learning community:
• The Facebook terms and conditions state that no one under the age of 13 years should have a Facebook profile. Therefore, any students under 13 who 'Likes' the
page or ‘Comments’ on the Lake Munmorah High School page will be deleted and reported immediately.
• The Department of Education and Communities has strong advice for teachers 'Friending' parents and students on Facebook detailed in the Code of Conduct 2014. Although Lake Munmorah Staff proudly support and contribute to our page by way of ‘liking’ through their personal accounts, they are not permitted to friend parents or students. Comments agreement:
• Although Lake Munmorah High School actively encourages interaction from Facebook users we are not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page.
• The administrators of the LMHS page reserve the right, to remove comments that are racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, spam, that advocate illegal activity, contain falsehoods or are wildly off-topic, or that libel, incite, threaten or make ad hominem attacks on LMHS students, employees, guests or other individuals.
• Comments or messages selling products or promoting commercial, political or other ventures outside of the Department of Education and Communities are not permitted and will be deleted. LMHS facebook administrators will remove content, and in some cases ban users if comments contain:
• Offensive abusive, obscene, profane, hateful or racist content, links or images
• Comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation
• The direct, full name or descriptive reference to an individual, irrespective of the post’s tone
• Solicitations and advertisements by other organisations or endorsements by other organisations not approved by the Principal
• Multiple or repetitive posts by a single user or repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated by single or multiple users
• Anything else that the school deems inappropriate and does not align with our values, standards, policies and guidelines. Please be aware that comments are also subject to Facebook's Terms of Use and Code of Conduct, and when posted by students may be subject to action in-line with the Suspension and Expulsion of School Students – Procedures 2011.
