What a fantastic idea.

What a fantastic idea.

Council has thrown its support behind a project to make and distribute fabric reusable shopping bags in a bid to reduce the use of plastic bags in the Kyogle Local Government Area.
The Boomerang Bag project is an initiative of the Evening branch of the Kyogle CWA whose members wanted to do something practical to promote environmental awareness and make an impact locally.
After researching the issue of plastic pollution, the group decided to join the Boomerang Bag movement -- a nation-wide grassroots, community-driven initiative that is tackling plastic pollution at its source.
And while the Evening branch of the Kyogle CWA is leading the project, it is open to anyone who wants to become involved.
The Boomerang Bag project in Kyogle will be officially launched on Saturday at the Kyogle Memorial Institute Hall at 9am. All welcome to come along to see what is involved and lend a hand.
