Don Gully Oval, Kyogle, has received a major makeover thanks to Kyogle Council.
Work to improve facilities at the sports ground have included an upgrade of the kitchen and public amenities, new spectator seating (sponsored by Brown and Hurley) and the installation of lights for the oval.
Work is also being undertaken to improve the drainage at the front of the clubhouse.
The drain has been piped, filled with top soil and grassed up to make a comfortable viewing platform.
Other work will see a previously open drain that was subject to erosion filled and the area opened up as a car park.

The BMX track planned for Anzac Park, Kyogle, has generated plenty of positive community interest.
The basic design for the track is pictured below. Hopefully, the plan will give everyone an idea of how big the track will be and what it will include. Thanks again to Earthworx and Simon Tough for working with Kyogle Council to provide such a great facility for the community.

Great things are happening at Kyogle's Anzac Park.
Kyogle Council's Urban and Assets facilities staff have been building a barbecue and shelter at the park and work will soon start on a BMX track.
The area designated for the BMX facility is roped off and ready for construction.
Local contractor Kyogle Earthworx has volunteered to build the BMX track at no charge. The project has been organised by Simon Tough through Kyogle Council.

Second Hand Saturday, the biggest day of garage sales on the North Coast, will be held on Saturday, 26 September this year, and Kyogle Council is once again involved.
Registrations to hold a garage sale are now open at secondhandsaturday.com.au, giving people plenty of time to spring clean for their garage sale.
Each household registering will have their garage sale address listed for free in their local paper and online on the Second Hand Saturday website, which will have a map and search engine available for shoppers.
The page (https://www.facebook.com/mysecondhandsaturday) also gives people the opportunity to post questions and share valuable garage sale advice, as well as promote goodies for sale on the day.
Coordinated by North East Waste and member Northern Rivers Councils, the aim of the event is to promote the reuse of goods and materials instead of disposal - saving resources and our local environment.
For more information, go to the Second Hand Saturday website www.secondhandsaturday.com.au, sign up to the page or contact Council.

Have your say on the Asbestos Awareness Campaign run by Kyogle Council in association with North East Waste to win a $150 to spend at your local hardware store.
Over the past 12 months, Kyogle Council has participated in a media campaign to raise awareness of illegally dumped asbestos. Ads were developed for TV, radio, local papers and Council newsletters with the assistance of NE Waste.
Illegally dumped asbestos places a significant environmental and financial cost on the Council. Private contractors often need to be engaged to do the clean up because of the potentially dangerous health risks associated with asbestos.
Tash Morton, Illegal Dumping Coordinator with NE waste said that in the past 12 months local Councils had cleaned up 15 loads of illegally dumped asbestos at an estimated cost of $30 000.
Your feedback is helpful for us in developing future campaigns on illegal dumping.
Complete the survey before 31 July at http://www.illegaldumping.com.au/survey.html to go in the draw to win.
This program has been funded with the support of the NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.
