We're busting a few cold-weather food myths that could be putting you and your family at risk. The truth is, food-poisoning bacteria can grow quickly between 5°C and 60°C, and that danger zone doesn't take a winter break.

A few simple habits can make all the difference:
✅ Keep your fridge below 5°C
✅ Refrigerate leftovers promptly - don't leave them out overnight
✅ Defrost food in the fridge, not on the bench
✅ Check use-by dates - not just the sniff test

It’s time to switch off your sprinklers and let mother nature do its thing 💧

From June 1, sprinklers in Perth, the South West and parts of the Great Southern regions need to be switched off or on snooze.

Thanks to Riley, our 2026 Waterwise Action Award winner, and the City of Kwinana for switching off.
