🏆🗣️ DEBATING UPDATE 🗣️🏆

Congratulations to our sensational Year 6 debating team, who won their debate against Penrith South Public School!

The topic was:
“That every Year 5 and 6 student must complete two hours of community service for homework each week.”

Arguing the negative side, our students constructed and delivered an exceptionally strong case. They presented their arguments with confidence and clarity, responded thoughtfully to the opposing team and worked together brilliantly to secure the win. 🌟

This incredible team continues to impress us with their preparation, skill and determination. Their ability to support one another and combine their individual strengths makes them a formidable debating team…and we could not be prouder! 🥰

♟️🌟 CHESS GALA DAY 🌟♟️

Today, a wonderful group of Kurrajong students attended the Chess Gala Day at Hobartville Public School.

Chess requires incredible concentration, patience and strategic thinking. Players must constantly plan ahead, anticipate their opponent’s next move and maintain their focus for an entire game—before doing it all again across multiple rounds throughout the day! 👏♟️

We are extremely proud of the determination, perseverance and sportsmanship displayed by our students. They embraced every challenge, supported one another and represented our school beautifully. 🩵

🏐🌟 PSSA NETBALL GALA DAY 🌟🏐

What a fantastic day for the 53 Kurrajong students who participated in the PSSA Netball Gala Day!

Our students demonstrated incredible sportsmanship throughout the competition. While many began the day still learning some of the rules, they enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to try something new. Their determination, perseverance and willingness to learn were wonderful to see—and they had loads of fun along the way! 🩵

A special thank you to Mrs Vella for coordinating our teams, and to Mr Leddicoat and Mrs Bowes for supporting our students throughout the day. 🥰

We are also incredibly grateful to Miss Raicevich (Annabelle) and Mrs Sullivan (Ivy) for generously giving their time to help manage teams. Your support and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated! 👏

⚽🌟 WANDERERS CUP FINAL🌟⚽

What an incredible day for our Stage 2 girls’ soccer team!

The girls played their hearts out throughout the Wanderers Cup final rounds, showcasing exceptional talent, teamwork and sportsmanship. They won their pool but narrowly missed progressing to the grand final due to goal difference.

Throughout every game, the girls displayed remarkable grit, determination and team spirit. They encouraged one another, never gave up and represented Kurrajong Public School with pride. They are a true credit to their families and our school, and we could not be prouder of them! 🩵 🥰 🩵

A special thank you to Mrs Vella for coordinating this wonderful opportunity and supporting the team throughout the competition, and to Mrs Franks for assisting today. 🥰

📚🩵 BUDDY READING FUN! 🩵📚

Our Year 6 and Kindergarten students recently shared a very special reading session with their buddies.

It was wonderful to see our senior students reading so patiently and enthusiastically, while our youngest learners listened, joined in and enjoyed spending time with their big buddies. The smiles, conversations and shared love of books made it a truly heartwarming experience! 🌟

A special thank you to Mrs Flanagan for leading this lovely initiative and creating another meaningful opportunity for our students to learn and connect across the school.

Our school was filled with colour and team spirit as students proudly wore the jerseys of their favourite sporting teams!

🎉 FATHER’S DAY GAMESTERNOON! 🎉

What an incredible afternoon! With more than 200 people joining us, this year’s Father’s Day Gamesternoon was our biggest and best yet!

We LOVE seeing our dads and grandads come together with their children to enjoy a special afternoon filled with fun, laughter, games and, of course, the world’s best sausage sizzle! 🌭

Everyone embraced the spirit of the afternoon and got stuck into skipping, tennis, chess, handball, soccer, obstacle courses, volleyball and our absolute favourite activity of all… TUG OF WAR! 🪢💪

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful staff for giving their time and enthusiastically assisting with this special event. Your support helped bring our community together in the funnest way possible! 🩵

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so memorable. Seeing our school community having so much fun together was truly special.

🏃‍♂️🏆 NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS 🏆🏃‍♂️

Levi proudly represented NSW as a member of the U13 Boys team at the National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat.

This was his first experience competing at a national level and despite feeling unwell, Levi was determined to race—and took on the challenging three-kilometre course in exceptionally cold, wet and muddy conditions.

Showing tremendous courage and perseverance, Levi attacked the course with determination and finished 60th overall against the best young runners from across Australia. While the difficult conditions prevented him from achieving his usual personal-best time, simply reaching the National Championships and completing the race was an outstanding accomplishment.

Adding to this incredible experience, the NSW U13 Boys team finished first and were crowned National Champions! 🥇💙

Levi has reflected positively on the experience and is already determined to learn from it, setting himself the goal of returning to compete at the National Championships in 2027.

We are incredibly proud of Levi’s resilience, commitment and remarkable achievement. Congratulations, Levi—what an inspirational effort! 🌟

⚽🏆 FUTSAL STATE FINALS! 🏆⚽

What an incredible achievement for our Stage 2 girls’ futsal team!

Competing against some of the strongest teams in the state, the girls played beautifully and demonstrated outstanding skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. They finished an impressive second in their pool before their remarkable campaign came to an end in the quarter-final. 🌟 🌟 🌟

We are incredibly proud of these talented girls and all they have achieved. Reaching the State Finals is a tremendous accomplishment, and they have represented Kurrajong Public School with pride at every stage of the competition. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

A special thank you to Mrs Vella for her ongoing commitment to the team and to Miss Watkins for assisting and supporting the girls today. Your time, encouragement and dedication are greatly appreciated. 🥰
