Kureelpa Brigade will be taking part in a Group Training Exercise with many other Brigades from our area at Mapleton on Sunday 20th July.
Expect to see at least 20 yellow Rural Appliances moving around the area between the Mapleton State School, Obi Obi Road, Delicia Road and Mapleton Forest Drive from 7am to 4pm.
This is an annual training event, held at different locations each year. The trucks may have red&blue lights on at they move across roadways.

The weather has been drying the vegetation lately and it has given our Brigade a chance to catch up on some preseason burns. Here we are assisting a landowner to reduce some debris. Mapleton Brigade also came to assist on these ones.

An excellent day at the Kureelpa Rural Fire Brigade Christmas BBQ.
Kids had a ball with the fire hose & siren and loved Santa's gifts.
New residents were introduced to their near neighbours and Brigade members.

Just to make it a bit more exciting, we had a firecall in the middle of the day as well.

Our Brigade assisted Keil Mountain RFB and several other Brigades at a Controlled Hazard Reduction burn at Didillibah today.
All went well until the storm came through and the burn was stopped.

Kureelpa Brigade assisted with 19 other appliances to conduct a Hazard Reduction/Prescribed burn South of Caloundra in the Aura Esate area which is managed by Stocklands. This is a conservation area which has a planned burn regime over several years to assist plant growth and provide fresh opportunity for wildlife. Eventually this will be handed to Council to manage.
