On Saturday 12 September 2026, firefighters from across Australia and around the world will take part in the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.

Participants will tackle a gruelling 28-floor climb while wearing up to 25kg of firefighting gear, pushing themselves physically and mentally in support of some incredibly important causes. The event raises funds for Lifeline Australia, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and the 000 Foundation.

We are proud to announce that this year, four operational members from the Korumburra Fire Brigade have registered to take on this incredible challenge.

You can help support our crew and these three outstanding charities by making a donation. Every dollar raised helps fund vital services and research focused on cancer, depression, post-traumatic stress injury, and su***de prevention. Most importantly, it shows your support for the firefighters who are preparing to take on this demanding event.

If you'd like to contribute, donations can be made here:

Thank you for your support. We can't wait to represent our community and give this challenge everything we've got.

⚠️ Traffic alert for drivers ⚠️

There has been a chemical spill on the Korumburra–Wonthaggi Road that spans between Korumburra and Kongwak including the intersection of Inverloch-Kongwak road, making the road surface extremely slippery.

🚗 Please drive with caution, reduce speed, and allow extra stopping distance if travelling through the area.

You can't smell smoke when you're asleep 😴💤

All smoke alarms in your home should be interconnected - this means that no
matter where a fire starts - all alarms will sound.

🔥Fire Equipment Maintenance – Supporting Korumburra’s Volunteers

The Korumburra Fire Brigade relies on the generous support of FEM clients to continue serving and protecting our community. Every service helps empower our local volunteers.

Fire Equipment Maintenance (FEM) is the commercial arm of the CFA, supplying and servicing essential fire protection equipment for businesses, including fire extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels.

What makes FEM truly unique is that it is the only fire equipment servicing organization where profits are reinvested directly back into the community.

🔥Our Services
• Supply and maintain fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets
• A wide range of fire protection products at competitive prices
• Hydrostatic testing and comprehensive equipment servicing

🔥Our Community Benefits

When you choose FEM, you’re not just investing in workplace safety — you’re investing in your local community.

A portion of every dollar spent goes directly toward supporting our brigade, helping fund vital resources and equipment that are not routinely supplied.

By choosing FEM, you’re helping ensure our local brigade is better equipped to protect Korumburra and surrounding communities.

It’s more than maintenance — it’s meaningful community support.

Are YOU our next volunteer?

18/05/2026

Yesterday alone, our brigade attended two separate accidents.

The first, thankfully, was only a minor incident, with support from members from Loch CFA Fire and Rescue and a member from Kongwak Fire Brigade.

Then later last night, crews responded to a serious collision involving a truck and a car. We were assisted on scene by members from Ruby Fire Brigade, Loch, Victoria police, Amulance Victoria and the SES.

These incidents are a reminder of how quickly emergencies can happen and how important the support between neighbouring brigades and emergency services is. We thank everyone involved for their professionalism and teamwork, and we hope those involved in the accidents recover well.
