🚒 Today is St Florian’s Day - also known as International Firefighter’s Day.

❤️ It's a time for us to thank every firefighter - past and present - for their bravery, dedication, and commitment to protecting lives and communities.

❤️ We pause to remember and honour those firefighters who sadly lost their lives protecting others. May they rest in peace.

🤝 Photo thanks to Glengarry Volunteer Fire Brigade - Tasmania.

🚒❤️ Summerleas Fire Brigade Valentine’s Message ❤️🚒

(Reposted from the Sorell Fire Brigade with permission - We loved their work)

Roses are red 🌹
Violets are blue 💙
If your smoke alarm’s chirping…
It’s talking to you. 🔋😉

Candles are lovely 🕯️
For Valentine’s cheer 💕
But blow them out properly,
We’d rather not appear. 🚒

Cooking up romance? 🍳❤️
Keep an eye on the pan,
Because “just checking Facebook” 📱
Was never the plan.

Give heaters some space 🔥
Keep exits clear too 🚪
We love our Sorell community ❤️
We just don’t want to visit you. 😉

This Valentine’s Day 💌
Share chocolates and hugs 🍫🤗
Not unattended candles 🕯️
Or overloaded plugs. 🔌

From all of us at Summerleas Fire Brigade ❤️🔥
We’re always on call 📟
But the best gift you can give us
Is no call at all. 🙌

Stay safe and have a Happy Valentine’s Day❤️🔥🚒

The Summerleas Medium Tanker is smaller but we still face the same challenges. Please start your fire prevention and preparedness work this weekend...... Summer is approaching fast.

Please take the time to understand this and how it might impact you now and in the future.

The Australian Fire Danger Rating System (AFDRS) is now available on TasALERT.

The AFDRS provides four easy to recognise rating levels that describe the potential level of danger should a bushfire start.

To view the ratings, turn on the AFDRS map layer in the map settings on TasALERT.com or in the app.

Once open, you will be able to see the 4-day fire danger rating forecast for your district.

More information on the AFDRS is available on the Tasmania Fire Service website: fire.tas.gov.au/fire-danger-rating/explained/
