𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 🛥
From 1 October 2026, everyone on board a recreational vessel must wear a level 100 or higher lifejacket when:
▪ handling Southern Rock Lobster (crayfish) traps or pots
▪ lifting or hauling crayfish traps or pots
▪ carrying crayfish traps or pots onboard a vessel.

The requirement applies to all people on recreational vessels engaged in crayfishing, regardless of vessel length, age, experience or swimming ability.

Domestic commercial vessels and inland waters are exempt from this requirement. It applies to recreational vessels in coastal waters only.

🏀 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝟯𝟲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 🏀

In partnership with the Adelaide 36ers, the Connected and Active Communities Program are offering 13-18 year olds in the Limestone Coast to opportunity be apart of a Basketball High Performance Program.

The program includes:
▪ Weekly high-level training in Mount Gambier, with regular training sessions across the Limestone Coast and clinics/carnivals in Adelaide
▪ Coaching clinics with 36ers players and coaches
▪ 36ers matchday experience
▪ Strength & conditioning programs, and monthly sports psychology and nutrition sessions

Training will be delivered locally by Coach Kurt Russell, with support from the Adelaide 36ers coaching team.

South Australian artists of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enter an original artwork in the Healing Arts South Australia Artist Award.

The artwork must be inspired by one or more of the program’s themes:
🌱 Growing up safe and happy
🧠 Mental health in a changing world
🤝 Connection through culture
🌳 Ageing well

The chosen artist will receive $5,000, with their artwork featured across campaign materials promoting Healing Arts South Australia.

There’s a Cape Jaffa Lighthouse in Kingston. Yes, Kingston.

Once standing out at sea on the Margaret Brock Reef, the lighthouse guided ships along this stretch of coastline for more than a century.

Today, its striking red and white structure stands on Marine Parade in Kingston, where you can get much closer to a piece of maritime history that once stood around eight kilometres offshore.

It’s the kind of story you might miss if you don’t stop and look a little closer.
