Today for National Simultaneous Storytime we joined 2 million other Australians to read Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller (written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, and illustrated by Jake Minton) - an action-packed book about a football match between FC Outback and Bush United (you'll have to read it if you want to know who won!).

Just like the characters in the book, we required teamwork and grit to tackle the challenge of making these super cute masks and standing together simultaneously facing the same direction for this photo!

This week is National Reconciliation Week, which is all about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians. We're in!
📚Wondering what you can do? The library is a great place to start learning about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Come and find a story ... or two ... or three.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Sydney Writers’ Festival livestream at Gerringong Library and helped to make it such a thought-provoking celebration of books and ideas. We filled round 300 seats over the 11 sessions, and it was wonderful to hear people laughing out loud at times and clapping at the end of the talks – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
☕🍰And another huge thank you to the Friends of Kiama Library volunteers who transformed the library foyer into a pop-up café and provided a space for everyone to continue the conversation between sessions and connect over tea and cake. It really added to the experience.
