Kiama Municipal Council invests $12 million on infrastructure, assets and services and $136,000 for cultural grants, community donations and regional contributions. It is concerned with a wide range of matters of local interest that affect the daily lives of its residents - much more than 'roads, rates and rubbish'.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your feedback on the Kiama Sports Complex Masterplan during the public exhibition.

We received 177 submissions, and your input has played an important role in shaping the updated plan.

Based on community feedback, the preferred option has been refined to:
🔹Retain a skatepark on site
🔹Provide more parking
🔹Improve the overall layout and facilities

Next steps: Council will consider endorsing the Masterplan as a long-term vision for the site.

While funding is not yet allocated, the project will be delivered in stages, supported by future State and Federal Government grants.

We've recently introduced a new payment system to make it easier for ratepayers to manage their rates.

What this means for you👇

You can now:
🔹pay in smaller, more regular instalments
🔹set up and manage payments quickly from your phone
🔹choose how you pay (by bank account, debit card or credit card)

What's changing from 1 July 2026:
🔹All existing direct debits were cancelled on 31 May 2026.
🔹If you currently pay by direct debit, you need to set it up again before your next payment is due.
🔹From 1 July 2026, Council will only use the new system for direct debits.

Kiama Council’s SENTRAL Youth Service team was recognised for their dedication to supporting our community at the Local Government Excellence Awards at Royal Randwick Racecourse last night.

SENTRAL was a finalist in the Community Development (population under 100,000) Award for our Youth-Led, Community Strong submission with Singleton Council winning the trophy.

Our hard-working SENTRAL team provides a safe and supportive environment for young people to meet up, develop friendships, build knowledge, increase confidence and engage in social, educational, and recreational activities.
