🚒 New Volunteers Wanted 🚒

Kersbrook CFS is looking for new volunteers, particularly those available to respond during the daytime.

No experience is needed, you will be provided all the training and equipment. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills, make lifelong friendships, and give back to your community.

Over the last few months, our members have undertaken:

🔥 Grass fire fighting
🔥 Team challenges
🔥 Relay Pumping (Fire truck to Fire truck)

A small group of our volunteers tackled True Grit Barossa, taking on 10km and 32 tough obstacles, all in support of the Black Dog Institute and the incredible work they do for mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

Thanks to the amazing support from our community, we’ve now raised an incredible $1,798! 💛

Once again, we'd like to thank everyone for helping us raise $1,719 to go toward our fund-raiser for True Grit.

💛 May 8 – Mates Day 💛
Today is a reminder to check in on your mates, have the conversations that matter, and look out for each other, because sometimes a simple “how are you really going?” can make all the difference.

In just over a week, a group of Kersbrook CFS members will be taking on True Grit to raise awareness and funds for the Black Dog Institute and the important work they do around mental health and su***de prevention. Link is below for those who want to donate, we have almost reached our $1000 target, but still need your help!

Mental health affects people from all walks of life, and as emergency service volunteers, we know how important it is to support not only physical wellbeing, but mental wellbeing too.

Fire Danger Season comes to an end at midnight tonight, but that doesn’t mean the risk disappears. 🔥

With northerly winds and warmer weather over the next few days, fire danger can quickly increase. Stay vigilant and use common sense when working with fire. If something does get out of hand, don’t wait, call 000 early to get us on the road sooner.

If you’re planning a burn-off and would like a hand, we may be able to assist. Send us a message through our page and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

We do suggest a donation to the brigade in return, helping support our volunteers and equipment.

As always, thank you for your cooperation this fire season, it’s helped our volunteers stay safe and spend more time with family and friends. 🚒

We’re gearing up for True Grit and ready to put in the hard yards for a cause that matters.

We’re raising funds for the Black Dog Institute, helping support mental health research and su***de prevention.

Thanks to the incredible support so far, we’re already close to $500 raised, but we’d love to push on and hit our $1,000 goal.

Today we honour the brave. Those who have served and those who have fallen, who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy. We stand with gratitude for the legacy they have left behind.

We also recognise the men and women currently serving, who continue to uphold and protect those freedoms we so often take for granted.

We acknowledge the unseen battles many veterans and service members face, including mental health challenges and the tragic impact of su***de. It’s vital we continue to support those who have served, during and long after their time in uniform.

Lest we forget.

As we head towards the tail end of the fire season, Kersbrook CFS will be looking to carry out some live fire training & this is where the community can help us.

If you have a burn-off you’ve been planning, we may be able to assist by using it as a controlled training opportunity, carried out safely and under the right conditions.

In return, we kindly ask for a donation to the brigade to help support our volunteers and equipment.

If you’re interested, send us a message via the page and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Please remember: Fire season runs until April 30, and all restrictions still apply until then. Permits and approvals will still be required.

A group of our Kersbrook CFS members are stepping up to take on True Grit, pushing themselves physically and mentally, all for a cause that matters.

We’re doing it to raise awareness and support for mental health. The reality is tough:
• Around 1 in 5 Australians experience mental ill-health each year.
• Su***de remains one of the leading causes of death for Australians aged 15–44.
These are more than just numbers. They’re our mates, our families, and our communities.

That’s why we’re supporting the Black Dog Institute, an organisation dedicated to improving mental health, preventing su***de, and supporting those doing it tough. Our aim is to raise at least $1000 for Black Dog with your help.

Firefighters see firsthand how important it is to look after not just our physical health, but our mental wellbeing too, and this is one way we’re getting behind that.
If you’re able to, we’d love your support. Any donation, big or small, goes towards making a real difference.
And just as importantly take the time to check in on your mates. A simple conversation can go a long way.
