Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

The research is clear 📚 reading aloud is one of the most powerful things we can do for our children.

When we read with a child, we’re doing far more than sharing a story. We’re building the foundations for language, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Decades of research shows that children who are read to regularly:

💛 Build stronger language skills
Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.

💛 Develop early literacy skills long before they learn to read

We're looking for a Centre Cook to join our wonderful team at Goodstart Early Learning Kenmore - Kersley Road!

A Peek Inside Toddler 2!

We are so excited to share a glimpse into our beautiful Toddler 2 learning environment!

Minako and Catherine thoughtfully design each space to inspire curiosity, creativity, independence and a sense of belonging. From inviting play experiences and cosy reading corners to open-ended resources and spaces for exploration, every area has been intentionally created to support our children's learning and development.

We believe that the environment is a "third teacher," encouraging children to investigate, imagine, create and build meaningful connections with the world around them.

🌿💚 A huge thank you to all of our wonderful families and educators who joined us for our Gardening Working Bee on Saturday! 💚🌿

What a fantastic morning we had working together to make our outdoor spaces even more beautiful for our children.

Together we:
🌼 Added beautiful new plants
🪵 Built and assembled new resources
🌿 Tackled plenty of weeding
🍃 Tidied and refreshed our outdoor environments
🤝 Shared ideas, laughs and lots of teamwork!

It's always so special to see our centre community come together with a shared goal of creating inspiring spaces where children can learn, explore and connect with nature.

Thank you for giving up your time, bringing along your gardening skills, tools and enthusiasm. Your hard work has made such a difference, and we know the children are going to love exploring all of the wonderful changes.

We couldn't have done it without you! 💚🌸
