THE GREAT BOOK SWAP STARTS TOMORROW!

Help us share the joy of reading while supporting an important cause!
Kelvin Grove State College is hosting a Great Book Swap to raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Our Great Book Swap will be held from Wednesday 16 September to Friday 18 September, 8am – 4pm. There are hundreds of picture books, young adult fiction, non-fiction, poetry and more!

Students can choose a book and make a gold coin donation (EFTPOS is available), with every dollar raised going to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Parents and carers are very welcome to come along and buy books too!

SUPPORTED STUDY PROGRAM FOR YEAR 10, 11 and 12 STUDENTS

Kelvin Grove State College will be piloting a new Supported Study Program in Term 4. This program will see the College partner with Padea Education to offer after-school study sessions supported by ATAR 99+ tutors. The program is designed to deliver personalised tutoring in every subject and build consistent study habits, while making life easier for parents.

This is an exciting opportunity for all Year 10, 11 and 12 students to gain an edge on their studies but is limited to 25 enrolments.

YEAR 8 DESIGN FIBRE TECHNOLOGY CREATURES

Our Year 8 Design Fibre Technology students have created sensory soft toys designed to provide comfort, calm and compassion for sick children.

These unique creatures are made from upcycled materials, showcasing our students’ creativity, care and commitment to sustainable design.

YEAR 11 LEADERSHIP CAMP!

Our Year 11 students have been putting leadership into action at Emu Gully Adventure Centre! From challenging activities and teamwork to stepping outside their comfort zones, students have been developing the skills, resilience and confidence needed to lead our College community into 2027.

A fantastic few days of challenge, connection and leadership - and plenty of memories along the way!

YEAR 12 STUDENT TO COMPETE AT YOUTH OLYMPICS!

Following an incredible victory at the Asian U18 Beach Volleyball Championships in Uzbekistan, and Australia’s first-ever men’s U18 silver medal at the Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands, School Vice Captain and Volleyball Excellence student Ryan, alongside his playing partner Tom from the Sunshine Coast, has earned selection to represent Australia at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Senegal from 31 October to 13 November this year!

What an incredible journey Ryan has had! From representing Kelvin Grove on the school court to competing on the international stage, this is a truly outstanding achievement and one that the entire KG community can be incredibly proud of.

We know that all of KG will be cheering Ryan and Tom on throughout their Olympic campaign!
