Built in 1876/9, gutted by fire in 1904, rebuilt and gutted again in March 2022, this was Sir Kidman's home which he donated to the Education Department and has been used by Kapunda High School since 1921.

Samuel Doering happened to find this image of Eringa on the Art Gallery of South Australia website.

It was taken either by Sidney Oats or R.S. Hawke - both local Kapunda photographers from around 1900 onwards.

I hope it can be of some value to you!

I know so many took photos on this devastating evening which broke so many hearts in Kapunda and surrounds Many were posted on our Community Page as well as on private pages and I am asking now if you could please post them below.

I feel it is important to remember how we felt that night, keep that passion alive to support the rising of Eringa again. She will return to her former glory and we can put this behind us.

Please kindly share your photos and videos of the night Eringa burnt ?

Tonight as the rain fell, a small group gathered before Eringa. Exactly a week after a night that will be embedded in the minds of many for eternity.
The tears that rained down from so many last week, tonight fell from the sky.
Stories were shared about her history and what Eringa means to the students, the faculty, the historians and the broader community.
A resounding positivity filled the air. There was talk of hope, support, and recognition of the small victories that have connected people and bought the community together.
The Ngadjuri people recognised the significance of this land. It’s up to us to preserve that foundation and build upon it. Not just with stone, timber and iron, but with spirit.
Eringa will rise again. ❀️
