đź’¬ Every child and young person has the right to be heard

This Children's Week, we're sharing our new child-friendly complaints resources, designed to help children and young people understand their rights and where to go for support if they want to raise concerns about CITS activities, services or staff.

The resources were shaped by feedback from children and young people to help make sure they're easy to understand and use.

Schools across WA are invited to bring reconciliation to life through learning 🤝

The Partnership Acceptance Learning Sharing (PALS) program is now open for applications, supporting schools to deliver projects that help students learn about Aboriginal cultures, histories, languages and achievements.

PALS funding can support activities that build understanding, strengthen relationships and encourage meaningful conversations about reconciliation in school communities.

Kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools across Western Australia are encouraged to submit applications. Schools with and without Aboriginal students are welcome.

If your school has an idea that could help students learn, connect and grow through reconciliation, now is the time to apply.

Applications are now open for the latest round of Game on, Girls grants! Funding is available to help clubs create welcoming, supportive and engaging experiences for girls aged 13-17.

Maybe it's a new program, leadership opportunity, social event, mentoring initiative or a way to make participation more accessible. Whatever your idea, this funding can help bring it to life.

The first round supported nearly 200 clubs across WA, helping young women stay connected to their sport, their teammates and their communities during the teenage years, when participation rates often decline.

The Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program supports upgrades to shared sporting facilities on school grounds, helping create more opportunities for students, local clubs and community members to get active close to home.

🎨 Regional galleries are at the heart of our local communities and new support is helping them deliver more art, ideas and opportunities!

A range of projects across WA including at Saltwater Gallery, Southern Forest Arts and ART ON THE MOVE will help support exhibition development, artist participation, professional development and future touring opportunities across the State.

The funding will also help galleries plan for the future, explore infrastructure improvements and strengthen networks that make it easier for regional communities to access high-quality visual arts experiences closer to home.

It's great news for regional communities, helping local galleries continue to be places where people can discover new ideas, celebrate local talent and connect through arts and culture.

From live music, restaurants and festivals to evening sport, arts, culture and community events, WA's first Night-Time Economy Strategy sets a shared direction for the experiences that bring our cities, towns and regions to life after dark.

The strategy outlines how government, industry and communities can work together to support safe, inclusive and vibrant night-time activity, while creating opportunities for local businesses, jobs, tourism and cultural experiences across the State.

Help bring regional WA's trail stories to the world 🌿🥾

The 2026 World Trails Conference is coming to Perth, and a new bursary program is helping ensure regional Western Australians have a seat at the table.

Supported by Lotterywest, the WA Regional & Rural Bursary Program offers financial assistance towards travel and accommodation costs for eligible regional trail professionals attending the conference.

If you help plan, manage, maintain or advocate for trails in regional WA, this is an opportunity to connect with trail leaders from around the world, share your local knowledge and bring new ideas back to your community.

A total of $12,500 is available to support up to 25 recipients, with applications assessed across three funding rounds.

Apply early and find out more via the link in the comments.
