Attendees who participate in the Community Conversation will receive a $70 honorarium as a thank you for their time and contribution.

Grants for sheep producers are now open – Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry are now open for Round 2 of the Farm Business Transition Program.
The program is part of the Australian Government’s $139.8 million transition assistance package, assisting sheep producers affected by the phase out of live sheep exports by sea.
Eligible sheep producers who have actively participated in the live sheep export by sea trade since 1 July 2020 can now apply for up to $75,000 (GST exclusive) across both rounds in funding to support the adoption of alternative farming systems and practices.
Applications close 7.00pm AWST on 15 July 2026.

Open now - Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Round 2 grants of up to $40,000 (GST exclusive) across both rounds, to assist livestock transport businesses affected by the phase out of live sheep exports by sea.
The Livestock Transport Industry Transition program will assist livestock transport operators transition to other transport-related activities, which may require further investment.
If your business has been involved in transporting sheep or essential export-related goods, such as feed, bedding, water systems, veterinary supplies, or handling equipment, specifically for the live export trade, you may be eligible.
Applicants must have actively participated in the live sheep export by sea trade since 1 July 2020 and provide a 1:1 matching cash co contribution.
These grants are part of the $139.8 million transition assistance package for the Australian sheep industry to phase out live sheep exports by sea.
The grant opportunity will close 7.00pm AWST on 13 July 2026.
