🏠 WHERE SHOULD SHORT-TERM RENTAL ACCOMMODATION BE LOCATED IN CERVANTES AND JURIEN BAY? 🏠

The Shire is proposing new preferred and non-preferred areas for unhosted short-term rental accommodation (e.g. AIRBnB) in residential zones.

If you own, manage, live near, or use short-term rental accommodation, now is the time to review the proposed maps and provide feedback.

Feedback is being accepted via [email protected] until 5.00pm, Wednesday 7 October 2026.

Join us for a magical evening under the stars at Fauntleroy Park, Jurien Bay!

⏰ 5.30pm – 9.00pm
📍 Fauntleroy Park, Jurien Bay
🎟️ FREE COMMUNITY EVENT

Bring your family, friends and a picnic, settle in for some live music, and watch the night sky come alive.

What’s happening on the night:
🎶 From 5.30pm – Enjoy live music as the sun goes down
🌿 6.30pm – Join a local guide for a walk along the coastal dunes and discover the region’s unique flora and fauna. Kids can join in for the chance to win a prize!
🔭 From 7.00pm – Take a guided tour of the night sky and discover the stars above
✨ Throughout the evening – Look through telescopes provided on the night
🧺 Bring your picnic, find a spot on the grass and make an evening of it!

Whether you’re a keen stargazer, a nature lover or simply curious about what’s above us, everyone is welcome. 🌟

The guided walk forms part of WA Parks Foundation’s Spring into Parks initiative, supported by Lotterywest.

📣 BADGINGARRA RECREATION PRECINCT MASTERPLAN – OPEN FOR COMMUNITY FEEDBACK 📣

The Shire of Dandaragan is seeking community feedback on the Badgingarra Recreation Precinct Masterplan.

The masterplan will help guide future improvements to this important community space, supporting sport, recreation, events and community connection.

Come along to one of our community drop-in sessions to view the masterplan, talk with the team, ask questions and share your feedback:

🚧 JURIEN EAST ROAD | SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS 🚧

From mid-September, road users can expect to see crews working along Jurien East Road between Indian Ocean Drive and Brand Highway as part of the Regional Road Safety Program (RRSP).

The works will include the installation of audible centre lines and edge lines, helping to improve driver awareness and enhance safety for everyone using the road.

Please take care when travelling through work areas and follow any signage in place.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while these important road safety improvements are carried out. 🚗
