Secondary College's Aspire Football and Netball program visit!

Yesterday, our Year 5/6 students had a great time when staff from Byford Secondary College's (BSC) Aspire Football and Netball Program visited Jarrahdale PS.

Students learnt more about the Aspire Program and had the chance to get involved in some football and netball activities. It was a great opportunity to sharpen their skills, hear about the program and what it has to offer students moving into high school.

A big thank you to the BSC staff for coming out and spending time with our students. We really appreciate it!

Year 5 Experience Day at Byford Secondary College!

Our Year 5 students had a fantastic day at Byford Secondary College's (BSC) Experience Day. Chaperoned by BSC's Student Leaders throughout the day, students had the opportunity to explore different learning areas and get a taste of high school life. It was wonderful to see them giving new things a go and representing Jarrahdale PS so well.

Thank you to the BSC staff and Student Leaders for making our students feel so welcome. Everyone had a great day and came back with plenty of stories to share!

Today we celebrated 65 Roses Day with a Crazy Hair Day across the school! Thank you to everyone who joined in and donated. Together, we raised $140, with all funds going to Cystic Fibrosis Australia to support the important work they do for individuals and families living with cystic fibrosis.
We loved seeing all the creative hairstyles, and were particularly impressed by the artistic abilities of some of our parents this morning!

This week in Pip and Friends, students enjoyed an outdoor wellbeing session focused on gratitude, connection, and creativity. After participating in check-in circles and discussing the importance of gratitude and nature, students worked in small groups to create mini villages using sticks, leaves, rocks, and other natural materials.

HAPPY P&C DAY WA!

Today we say THANK YOU to WA’s amazing P&Cs!! Especially to our own Jarrahdale Primary School P&C! You all contribute so much to our schools and communities. Your dedication and passion are incredible and we’re so grateful to each and every one of you.

At last count, on average WA P&Cs donated an estimated total of $15 million and nearly 500,000 volunteer hours each year to Western Australian public school communities. Today, we recognise and acknowledge that each hour volunteered and dollar donated goes towards outstanding school experiences for our kids.

We encourage school communities to get on board, share the P&C light, and let your local P&C know that you appreciate all the amazing things they do.

This week in Girl Power, we embraced the rainy weather with our “Storms & Sunshine” session.

Students created colourful umbrella artworks representing their strengths, supports, happy memories and calming strategies, while the clouds underneath symbolised worries or challenges they may face.

Room 1 was buzzing with excitement today! 🐝

The class had a very special learning experience with Mr Chris Brown, a local beekeeper. Mr Brown shared his knowledge about bees and the important role they play in our environment.

The students were fascinated and a few even had the chance to try on a real beekeeper’s suit!

Thank you Mr Brown for bringing such a fun and hands on lesson to Room 1 today!
