A huge congratulations to our Year 10 debating team, who have continued their impressive run in the Premier’s Debating Challenge, winning their second knockout debate of the finals against John Edmondson High School.

Debating on the affirmative side, Zoe, Elise, Jesinta and Noah displayed great confidence and teamwork. They developed a well-reasoned case by carefully considering the potential benefits and drawbacks of the topic for different stakeholders, demonstrating depth and sophistication in their approach.

What an exceptional achievement by Zoe P, Elise C, Jesinta D, and Noah K, who now progress further into the statewide competition!

Our SRC representatives recently took part in a Public Speaking Professional Learning Day at Woolooware High School, and we couldn't be prouder! The Principal highlighted that all participating students demonstrated exceptional ability in articulating their messages with clarity and impact.

Their speeches showcased deep insights into the importance of stopping disrespect before it escalates, emphasising why fostering respectful relationships is essential. These young leaders are truly making a difference in our school community.

Today our Year 7 and 8 Debating Team B competed in Round 1 of the finals for the NSW Premier's Debating Challenge.

Having begun the competition alongside more than 300 teams from across NSW Team B became Zone Champions after winning their three zone debates. Although the win was not ours today against Fort Street High School, I would like to express how incredibly proud we are of Molly J, Link S, Josephine K, Chiara M and Amy D for their hard work and dedication to improving every step of the way.

Debating provides students with an opportunity to develop many important life-long skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, research, teamwork, active listening and to consider ideas and arguments from multiple perspectives, including those that differ from their own. Through every debate, the team have taken on the adjudicators feedback and refined these skills to construct convincing arguments and persuasive rebuttal.

Congratulations team on a fantastic effort!

🏉 PORT HACKING CUP UPDATE – U14 GIRLS LEAGUE TAG 🏉

What a game! Our undefeated U14 Girls League Tag team has secured their place in the Grand Final after a thrilling 28–22 semi-final victory over Sylvania High School! 💙💛

The team had been unstoppable throughout the competition, recording wins over Engadine, Menai and Heathcote before heading into yesterday’s semi-final.

The nerves certainly came out to play in the first half, with Sylvania taking the lead at half-time. But after a strong and focused group talk, the girls came back together, composed themselves and stepped onto the field ready to fight.
And fight they did! 🔥
Jannali came out firing in the second half, producing multiple line breaks and tries. A fantastic long-distance conversion from Annalise added to the momentum, before a burst of energy saw the team cross for three quick tries to turn the game around and secure the win.
🏆 FULL TIME: Jannali 28 – Sylvania 22 🏆
This incredible result sees our girls progress through to the Grand Final, remaining undefeated throughout the competition!
A massive congratulations to every member of this fantastic team. Your determination, teamwork, resilience and belief have been outstanding.
A huge thank you also to Coach Ms Carr and Assistant Coach Eva, our Year 11 student, for their continued guidance, encouragement and commitment. 👏
The efforts of everyone involved have led to this incredible achievement — and we couldn't be prouder!
💙 ONE MORE GAME. ONE MORE PUSH. GRAND FINAL BOUND!

🎉 Congratulations once again to EORA House for taking out The Jannali High's Inaugural 2026 Champion House Trophy! 🏆

All students in EORA House enjoyed a fantastic celebration, choosing between a movie or a sports afternoon, capped off with a sausage sizzle lunch for all EORA students and staff. A special thank you to Sanders Real Estate at Jannali for kindly donating a popcorn machine, making the movie experience even more memorable with free popcorn for everyone!

We also extend our gratitude to all the staff who supported this exciting new initiative aimed at strengthening our school culture. Special shout-out to our dedicated EORA House staff, Mr Moore (House Coordinator), and Mr Asher for their hard work and preparation behind the scenes.

Thank you to students from the other three houses who donated a gold coin to wear m***i, raising $433 for The McGrath Foundation to support breast care nurses across Australia. Your generosity truly makes a difference.
