Miss Tilling’s Year 8 English class recently completed a creative writing journal activity inspired by the TJHS Push-Up Challenge! With many of our English faculty joining in the challenge, we’ve been finding fun and engaging ways to bring it into our lessons.

To finish off the class, students took a quick brain break and joined Miss Tilling in smashing out a round of push-ups!

Let’s keep supporting our amazing TJHS Push-Up Challenge Team as they raise funds and awareness for mental health.

Together, we’re making a difference—one push-up at a time!

💜 GEM Girls Giving Back to the Community 💜

On Wednesday the 10th of June, our Year 9 GEM Girls and Year 10 Mentors proudly hosted a Bake Sale to raise funds for Share the Dignity and other community initiatives.

Thanks to the generosity of our school community, the funds raised will help purchase essential sanitary products for women and girls living in domestic violence refuges, ensuring they have access to items that are often overlooked but critically needed.

This event provided our students with the opportunity to demonstrate leadership, teamwork and empathy while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We are incredibly proud of the effort and commitment shown by our GEM Girls and Mentors in supporting those in need.

A sincere thank you to everyone who donated, baked, purchased treats and helped make the day such a success. Together, we are helping create a more supportive and inclusive community. 💜

☕ Year 10 Global Studies: White Horse Coffee Cupping Session

On Wednesday our Year 10 Global Studies students were treated to a hands-on sensory coffee blending and tasting session as part of their study of Black Gold: The Nature and Complexity of the Global Coffee Industry.

A huge thank you to ex-student Dominic, co-owner of White Horse Coffee, along with Dave and Daniela, for running an engaging and practical session titled Introduction to Coffee: Blending, Brewing and Tasting.

Students explored the origins, aromas and flavour profiles of coffee from Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Brazil, before using their senses and mathematical skills to experiment with different blending ratios and create their own unique coffee blends.

Well done to all students for their enthusiasm, curiosity and teamwork throughout the session, and congratulations to the two winning teams whose blends were selected after a final taste test by Dom, Dave and Daniela.

A massive thank you to White Horse Coffee for their continued support of our Global Studies students and for helping bring the global coffee industry to life in such a memorable way.

On Wednesday, Year 10 students at Jannali High School participated in the final Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman mental health workshops. Through Breaking the Man Code and Unpacking the Her Code, students explored the pressures, expectations and stereotypes that can impact young people's wellbeing, while building skills to support positive mental health and stronger connections with others.

A huge thank you to our three amazing facilitators for leading such engaging and meaningful sessions today. We would also like to extend our thank you to the Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman team for their ongoing support, dedication and hard work in empowering young people within our community. Your impact has been invaluable, and we are grateful to have been part of this important program.

A special thank you to Mr Asher for coordinating this opportunity and to the teachers who supervised throughout the day. Your support helped make these important conversations possible.
Well done to all Year 10 students for their thoughtful participation and willingness to engage in these meaningful discussions.
