Irrewarra Rural Fire Brigade 80th Anniversary Christmas Supper & Presentation evening

Officers and members of the Irrewarra Rural Fire Brigade, Ladies Auxilary and Junior Development Program invite all past, present and new members and residents along to help celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Irrewarra Rural Fire Brigade to be held:

CFA State Championships at Mooroopna northern Victoria.
David Anderson from the Irrewarra Fire Brigade, representing District 6. Presenting the Dot McGee perpetual trophy to the Miners Rest junior team.
Dot McGee & her husband John, were solely responsible for bringing competition running to District 6, about 41 years ago. Which in turn Introduced Irrewarra to competition running, for which we were very successful over the decades. Dot & John also did a tremendous amount of work at state level as well.
So we remember Dot McGee today, with the presentation of her trophy.

A TOTAL FIRE BAN has been declared for the whole State of Victoria on Thursday 26 December 2024. 🚫 🔥

No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM Thursday 26 December 2024.

Irrewarra 1st Lieutenant Robert Martin, is a long way from home, flying firebombing helicopters out of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. 23-12-2024 (with his wife Sandra, also an Irrewarra member as ground support)
In between bombing fires, Robert has flown the Northern Territories Chief Police Superintendent, the Deputy Commissioner (state premier) and the Chief of the Northern Territories Fire Service all around Alice Springs and outlying communities. Along with other senior police.
In speaking to my brother Robert on the phone, he said a couple things really stood out in Alice Springs. The intensity of the sun, the heat, and the size and muscles of the Northern Territory police and Northern Territory Fire service blokes. See photo below. He said they make Arnold Schwarzenegger look like a school boy !!!!!!
