Fancy some Quince Jam with a swirl of Strychnine? No? We don’t blame you! Thankfully, this inventive recipe wasn’t for human consumption – it was used with thistle roots in an attempt to eradicate and control the plague proportions of rabbits in the Inglewood area.

‘The Abbott Buggy’ and ‘The Drag’ were donated to the Inglewood Historical Society by the Goodrich Family of Warroo Station. Horse drawn carriages were an integral part of working like on Stations in the 1800’s and early 1900’s as they provided reliable, flexible and essential transport in a time when no other alternatives existed for the remote outback landscape.

(‘The Abbott Buggy’ has a special connection to the Royal Family – visit the Inglewood To***co & Heritage Museum to find out more!)
